Objective To evaluate the use of Picture Archiving and Communication System(PACS) on quality monitoring of root canal therapy(RCT).Methods 5 evaluators studied the case images stored in PACS. The cases were randomly chosen and blind to the evaluators.The results given by the evaluators were studied with SPSS verl6.0.Results 156 cases were randomly chosen and evaluated.The images were divided into 4 groups (diagnosis,location,fulfill and fulfill compactness) and were evaluated separately.For diagnosis and location groups,there was no statistical difference within the evaluators'outcome.While within fulfill group and compactness group,there was.Conclusions PACS could be applied as a quality monitoring method;While using PACS for purpose of RCT quality monitoring,a standardization training should be performed at first.
The construction of Picture Archiving and Communication System(PACS) had transferred the original moods of film taking and exploring.It helped to further improve the medical quality of our hospital.This paper was aimed to illustrate the application of PACS in the root canal therapy in our hospital.The current and original mood was compared and the advantage as well as the perspective of the PACS application in the root canal theapy were studied.
To establisha parallel typing system based on ligase detection reaction(LDR),and to study the correlation between CGRP and IL-1A gene polymorphism and the susceptibility to severe chronic periodontitis in Chinese Han nationality.METHODS:Buccal swabs were collected from 100 adult patients with severe chronic periodontitis and 118 healthy adults.DNA was extracted from each sample.PCR-LDR technique was used to identify CGRP1210,CGRP+5247,CGRP4218 and IL-1A-889 genotype.The data were analyzed by χ2 test using SHEsis.RESULTS:The results showed a significant difference in the gene type of IL-1A-889,CGRP1210 and CGRP +5247 between patients with severe chronic periodontitis and periodontally healthy controls.CONCLUSION:The parallel typing system based on ligase detection reaction was established for gene polymorphism research.There is a possible role of IL-1A and CGRP gene polymorphisms in the susceptibility to severe chronic periodontitis for some patients.
