Dark forest (DF) is the first successful decentralized real-time strategy (RTS) game. Based on smart contracts, the game explores the application possibilities of new technologies, and prefigures the operation of the social system in the metaverse era. In this study, we collect on-chain data from DF, map player behavior, and discuss players’ game asset management, combat strategies in extreme mode, and the game’s exit mechanism. We believe that blockchain games, such as DF, can be viewed as a new technological space with metaverse characteristics, in which individuals art free to challenge centralized social structures using decentralized technology while subjected to more secret postmodern social surveillance.
本文关注元宇宙(metaverse)概念下不同行动主体的教育实践与前沿理念,提出观察元宇宙教育现状与革新的三个层次,即去中心化技术带来的教育结构性变革、元宇宙中的知识经验变化以及人机交互发展。文章认为,元宇宙中的教育将从去中心化自治组织(DAO)、去中心化金融(DeFi)和去中心化身份(DID)三个维度革新传统中心化教育模式、强化教育的普惠性;游戏是元宇宙重要辅助教育资源,在锻造教育认知链条、拓展数字课堂叙事、构建泛在学习机制等方面具有显著优势;新形态人机交互拓宽了学科边界,且发生在数字教育社区的校园元宇宙为教育学习创造了新的连接可能。
The notion of metaverse powered by blockchain technology has been buzzing in recent years, raising expectations for an advanced social vision of Web 3.0. Thus far, online multiplayer games are considered to be the sole counterparts of the full-state metaverse, and their in-game group behavior becomes a microscopic sample for estimating social dynamics in metaverse. In this paper, we select massive data from Dark Forest relating to players' behavior to explore how and to what extent the web 3.0 game simulates the social system. By analyzing and clustering the time series of players' behavior, We reveal the consistency of behavioral habits both inside and outside of the simulated gaming system; suggest that games based on blockchain technology have the advantage of digitally representing reality, and therefore constitute a key venue for future social practice.

Heraclitus's Forest is an interactive artwork that utilizes birch trees as a metaphor for the life stories recorded in an oral history database. We design a day/night cycle system to present the forest experience along the time elapse, multiple interaction modes to engage audiences' participation in history exploration, and evolving forest to arouse people's reflection on the feature of history, which is constantly being constructed but can never be returned to.
