The possibility of the ion-exchange of Na+ and K+ cations contained in OFF-type zeolite for H+, Ni2+, Cu2+, Co2+, and La3+ cations is investigated. Chemical and phase compositions, the morphology of crystals, and the adsorption properties of synthesized samples are studied via X-ray fluorescence and X-ray diffraction analysis, IR spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and adsorption measurements.
The effect of the nature of the silicon-containing component of the reaction mixture and that of the crystallization conditions on characteristics of the resulting offretite-type zeolite powder, including its degree of crystallinity, particle-size distribution, and adsorption properties with respect to toluene, cyclohexane, n -hexane, and water molecules, are considered. The thermal desorption of toluene from cationic forms of the offretite-type zeolite is reported. The K-forms of this zeolite can retain adsorbed toluene up to 300–400°C.
The technique for synthesizing powdered OFF-type zeolite of high phase purity and crystallinity has been developed. The effect of crystallization conditions on the characteristics of powderedOFF -type zeolite samples, namely, crystallinity, particle -size distribution, and adsorption of molecules has been studied. An increase in the crystallization temperature has been found to reduce the synthesis duration time; however it resulted in the forma tion of larger OFF-type zeolite crystals and aggregates thereof. It has been discovered than the particle size of the obtained OFF -type zeolite samples does not affect the adsorption of HO molecules. On the coarse-crystalline samples the slower diffusionrate ofn-!6 14molecules into the zeolite channels is observed; it is associated with the larger size of the adsorbed substance molecules. And for yet larger ! 6 12 molecules the equilibrium adsorption capacity values are decreased.
The effect of the preliminary holding of the BS-100 “white soot” at 150–155°C for 6 to 7 h and the crystallization conditions on both the characteristics of powdered MOR zeolite samples (degree of crystallinity, composition, particle size composition, and adsorption of C6H6 molecules) and their catalytic properties in the α-methylstyrene dimerization reaction has been studied.

A procedure was developed for preparing an aluminosilicate with a hierarchic pore structure and granules in the form of united polycrystalline concretions of MOR-type zeolite in the Na form. The procedure includes the step of mixing of MOR-type powdered zeolite with kaolin and white carbon black, granule forming, granule calcination, and crystallization in an autoclave in a sodium silicate solution.
There is studied the influence of amorphization of the enriched caolines of Prosyanovskiy, Glukhovskiy and Kyshtymskiy deposits in metacaolines and conditions of further crystallization in 30-96 °C in solutions of hydroxide and sodium silicate with various concentration of sodium and silicon on the characteristics of the synthesized zeolites of LTA and types. There were determined the conditions allowing to synthesize powered zeolines from all the researched caolines of high degree of crystallization and phase clearness.
