Industrial heritage is the material carrier of urban industrial memory, which reveals the cultural connotation and era value of modern urban industrial development. By studying and summarizing the current protection situation of the industrial heritage in Nanjing, the paper summarizes the four directions for the transformation of Nanjing’s industrial heritage: heritage parks combining urban leisure culture, exhibitions and museums combining urban culture communication, creative industrial parks combining urban industry and commerce, and comprehensive utilization cultural parks combining urban spatial structure. On the basis of further analyzing the characteristics of the transformation of Nanjing’s various industrial heritages, this paper puts forward the improvement strategies for the transformation of Nanjing’s industrial heritage from four perspectives: encouraging the participation of multiple subjects, integrating regional characteristics, enriching the types of activities, and integrating urban services and regional renewal.
