Eco-community Development (ECD) is a specific embodiment of city sustainability and ecological civilization construction at local scale, and residents are one of the core stakeholders. They engage in ECD through various activities and their environmental behavior is the result of the interaction of "human" and "environment". The main focus of this study is to measure residents' environmental behavior and explore its influencing factors. Previous studies have limited implications to measure residents' participation intensity and give less attention to explore the impact of "environment" factors on people's environmental behavior, especially the influence of situational factors. Public environmental facilities and activities (PEFA) are important supporting measures in communities and the main type of situational factors. In this context, we initially propose "Participation Intensity (PI)" to measure residents' environmental behavior from the processes of household lifestyle, consumption, recreation and social interaction. Then, we apply OLS regression model to analyze its determinants based on a questionnaire survey to 586 residents in Dongying City, Shandong Province in China. The findings show that residents' PI varies and PEFA are powerful predictors. Furthermore, residents' psychological factors, including concern and attitude to ECD and their satisfaction on the role of neighborhood committee, as well as socio-demographic characteristics, including gender, education level and length of residence also play important roles on PI. Our study provides a new perspective for understanding residents' participation in community environmental governance and suggests useful references for promoting ECD.
六价铬是污染场地中常见的污染物之一,在污染场地修复过程中常出现"反弹"与"拖尾"现象.基于文献调研和工程实践经验,本文从场地环境调查、修复过程等环节入手,并结合场地污染特征、水文地质条件以及六价铬物化属性等方面全方位分析了污染场地修复过程中六价铬"反弹"和"拖尾"现象的成因.在此基础上提出了相应的解决措施和研发方向,旨在优化修复技术和工艺,实现六价铬污染场地的持久稳定修复.
准确评估生态环境保护对居民生计结果的影响及作用机制,对解决保护与发展的矛盾具有重要意义.基于可持续生计模型,构建湿地保护背景下农户生计结果的分析框架,利用云南省大山包黑颈鹤自然保护区农户问卷调查数据,采用偏微分最小二乘法的结构方程模型,分析农户参与湿地保护对生计结果的影响机制.结果表明,农户参与湿地保护对家庭收入的直接效应为负,并通过"湿地保护-生计资本-生计策略-家庭收入"链条产生正向间接影响,但间接影响效应低于直接影响效应,因此农户参与湿地保护对家庭收入的总效应显著为负.农户参与湿地保护对家庭减贫和主观福祉的直接效应均为正,并通过"湿地保护-生计资本-生计策略-家庭减贫/主观福祉"链条产生正向间接影响,因此农户参与湿地保护对家庭减贫和主观福祉的总效应显著为正.相较部分退耕农户样本,湿地保护对生计结果的影响效应和显著性在全部退耕农户样本中表现更明显.基于此,针对农户生计选择和区域可持续发展提出相关建议:增强湿地保护政策与当地居民生计发展的结合力度,有效促进农户生计资本积累;积极推广经济林木种植和生态养殖业,推动集约化发展,促进农业转型;合理规划和发展生态旅游,鼓励外出务工,引入生态产业、养老产业等产业模式,号召年轻群体回乡创业等为农户提供多种就业机会,促进生计多样化发展.
To explore whether the environmental performance rating results improves the economic benefits of corporates and discusses its mechanism will help corporates to recognize, participate in and practice corporate environmental performance rating and disclosure system. Based on the survey data of 298 corporates in four cities of Inner Mongolia, we empirically analyze the impact of the improvement of environmental performance rating results on corporates’ economic benefits and the mechanism by using multiple ordered logistic model and intermediary effect model. The results show that: 1) The improvement of corporate environmental performance rating results has a significant positive impact on the current situation and the changes of corporates’ economic benefits.At the same time, the development of economic benefits is comprehensively affected by the characteristics of corporates and their managers. 2) The improvement of environmental performance rating results can help corporates to obtain government’s policy support, increase external investments, promote market sales growth, improve corporates’ social reputation, encourage corporates’ technological innovation and optimize management system, and ultimately achieve sustained economic growth. 3) The mediating effect of market sales growth and investors’ investment is the largest, while the effect of corporates’ management system optimization is the smallest, indicating that the mediating effect of corporates’ external factors is larger, while the effect of internal factors is smaller. The findings of this paper clarify the internal mechanism between environmental performance rating results and corporates’ economic benefits and provide policy implications for improving corporates’ environmental performance rating and disclosure system and achieving the coordinated development of economic and environmental benefits.
Membrane fouling is an inevitable obstacle of polyamide composite forward osmosis (FO) membranes in oily wastewater treatment. In this study, zwitterionic arginine (Arg) is grafted onto nascent self-made FO polyamide poly(ether sulfone) (PA-PES) membrane, imparting superior hydrophilic, antifouling, and antibacterial properties to the membrane. Detailed characterizations revealed that the Arg-modified (Arg-PES) membrane presented obviously surface positively charged and unique morphology. Results showed that our strategy endowed the optimized membrane, the water flux increased by 113.2% compared to the pristine membrane, respectively, meanwhile keeping high NaCl rejection > 93.9% (with DI water as feed solution and 0.5 M NaCl as draw solution, FO mode). The dynamic fouling tests indicated that the Arg-PES membranes exhibited much improved antifouling performance towards oily wastewater treatment. The flux recovery ratios of the membrane were as high as 92.0% for cationic emulsified oil (cetyl pyridinium chloride, CPC), 87.0% for neutral emulsified oil (Tween-80), and 86.0% for anionic emulsified oil (sodium dodecyl sulfate, SDS) after washing, respectively. Meanwhile, the Arg-PES membranes assembled with guanidine cationic groups exhibited an enhanced antibacterial property against E. coli, which exhibited a high antibacterial efficiency of approximately 96%. Consequently, the newly arginine functionalized FO membrane possesses impressive antifouling performance, while simultaneously resisting bacterial invasion, thus rendering it an ideal alternative for oily wastewater treatment in the FO process.
垃圾分类是城市生态文明建设的重要环节,科学技术及互联网的发展使得"生活垃圾智能化回收"新模式逐渐成为完善垃圾分类机制和改善城市环境的最佳途径之一.本文以此为研究背景,分析了以高校园区为试点开展生活垃圾智能化回收的合理性和可行性,并且借鉴现有的生活垃圾智能化回收管理的成功经验,结合北京市垃圾分类工作开展的实际情况,从模式创新探索、标准体系搭建和市场机制注入三个方面提出完善政府主导、社会资本介入和全民参与的多层次生活垃圾回收管理模式的建议.
Marine microplastic pollution (MMP) is becoming one of the most pressing environmental problems facing humanity today. The novel coronavirus epidemic has raised the issue of environmental contamination caused by large-scale improper disposal of medical waste such as disposable masks (DMs). To assess the impact of MMP caused by DMs and to seek solutions for the prevention and control of MMP, this study uses the Driving force-Pressure-State-Impact-Response (DPSIR) framework to establish a causal chain of MMP caused by DMs. The conclusion shows that the novel coronavirus epidemic has led to a surge in the use of DMs, which has brought pressure on resource constraints and environmental pollution at the same time. Improperly DMs enter the environment and eventually transform into MMP, which not only endangers the marine ecological system but also poses potential human health risks as well as economic and social hazards. In addition, further research on environmentally friendly masks (cloth masks and biodegradable masks) is essential to mitigate the environmental damage caused by the large-scale global use of DMs. This study provides a scientific and theoretical basis for the assessment of MMP from discarded DMs, and the findings of this study will provide a reference for the formulation of relevant policies.
