Expression of estrogen and progesterone receptors mRNA in breast cancer tissue may either rise or fall as compared to surrounding morphologically intact tissue. Increased expression of progesterone receptor mRNA observed in tumors with low proliferative and antiapoptotic activity.
The research highlights the problems of diagnosis and improved treatment outcomes of pancreatic head cancer. Precise detection of cancer of the pancreatic head is reached with the development of the optimal diagnostic model based on new methodological approaches involving improved techniques (ultrasound, computer tomography, angiography) and morphological studies usage, thus allowing appropriate counseling and treatment of disease. Improved treatment of pancreatic head cancer, complicated by jaundice, is achieved by the development of minimally invasive percutaneous transhepatic endobiliary and endoscopic methods of eliminating cholestasis and recovery outflow of bile into the intestine. Development of a new method of forming an pancreatodigestive anastomosis gives the opportunity to avoid the severe complications of pancreatic necrosis and insolvency pancreatico-enteroanastomosis. Radical surgery after recovery of functional impairment and morphological changes in the liver caused by jaundice, prevented the occurrence of the postoperative fatal hepatic failure. Further development of combined, radiation and drug treatment techniques improved the long-term results of combined and palliative treatment of cancer of the pancreatic head.
