両側腹直筋鞘前葉反転法（以下，前葉反転法）とshoelace darn repair は，いずれも腹直筋鞘前葉を用いた自己組織による腹壁再建法である．最大の相違点はその適応にあり，前者は閉腹困難となったopen abdomen management 患者において，合併症を予防するために行われる急性期の腹壁再建法であるのに対し，後者はすでに完成した腹壁瘢痕ヘルニアにおける慢性期の腹壁再建法である．本稿ではこれらの方法について解説する．
