A new simple and environment-friendly method has been developed for the synthesis of 2-(1-alamantyl)-4-bromophenol without using catalysts and solvents. An effective pathway of 2-(1-adamanatyl)-4-bromoanisole synthesis in one step instead of two steps is proposed. Both target compounds are used as semiproducts in the synthesis of 6-[3-(1-adamantyl)-4-methoxyphenyl]-2-naphthoic acid (adapalene).
