Purpose: To study the hormonal status of the tumor of the lung tissue and perifocal zone for possible sex differences.Materials and Methods: Level of sex hormones and prolactin in 10% of tissue homogenates of lung cancer patients, both male and female, was determined by radioimmunoassay using sets «Immunotech» (Czech Republic).Results: The study found increased tissue levels of prolactin in both sexes. Identified gender differences in the content of progesterone and testosterone levels: the first was higher in women, and the other men.Summary: The common point for peripheral lung cancer patients of both sexes was the high hyperestrogenization tissue. In women, high level of estradiol was localized in the tumor tissue, whereas men showed up in the perifocal area. It is possible that a preferential occurrence of lung cancer in women in the menopausal age is associated with the weakening of the protective action of sex hormones and, in particular progesterone
We studied the level of sex hormones and prolactin in lung tissue. We also studied the gonadotropins, prolactin and dopamine in pituitary tissue of male rates vaccinated with sarcoma C-45 into the lungs at the first and fifth week e of tumor development. The role of sex hormones of the target organ was revealed. The role of neuroendocrine mechanisms in malignant process regulation in the lungs during its appearance and its development was also found out.
