The primary morbidity of bronchial asthma (BA), allergic rhinitis (AR) and atopic dermatitis (AtD) in children (0-14 years old) and teenagers (15-17 years old) living in Astrakhan region from 1997 to 2008 were studied and compared with the levels of major contaminants in drinking water. The coefficients of Spearman correlation (r) were calculated for establishing the intensity of connection between ecological factors and primary morbidity of bronchial asthma, allergic rhinitis, atopic dermatitis (official data) in children and teenagers living in Astrakhan region. It was found that in children from birth to 14 years old the weak intensive correlation with primary morbidity of allergic diseases was noted. In teenagers the strong positive correlation of atopic dermatitis with presence of iron in drinking water was estimated (r = 0,73; p
To access the influence of air pollution and iodine deficit on primary sickness rate and prevalence of bronchial asthma, allergic rhinitis, atopic dermatitis in children and teenagers of Astrakhan region. The primary sickness rate and prevalence of bronchial asthma, allergic rhinitis and atopic dermatitis in children and teenagers living in Astrakhan region from 2000 to 2008 were compared with the thyroid glandule diseases and levels of major air pollutants. The coefficients of double correlation were calculated for establishing the intensity of connection between ecological factors, iodine deficit and primary sickness rate and prevalence of bronchial asthma, allergic rhinitis, atopic dermatitis (official data) in children and teenagers living in Astrakhan region. It was found that in children from birth to 14 years old the most intensive correlation with primary sickness rate of bronchial asthma were nitric dioxide (r = 0,62). In teenagers increased the role of nitric dioxide in the development of allergic rhinitis (r = 0,64). The high prevalence of bronchial asthma, allergic rhinitis and atopic dermatitis in children and teenagers of Astrakhan is noticed in regions of the city with high level of air pollution. The combined iodine deficit and disadvantage anthropogenic factors influence the development of allergic pathology beside children and teenagers in Astrakhan region.
