Objective: to identify the variability of frontal sinuses size patterns divided by sex and age in adults. Material and Methods. 83 X-ray computer tomograms of the head of adults without any signs of paranasal sinuses pathology and without traces of surgery on the external structures and internal nose in the history were studied. Results. It has been found the best pneumatized frontal bones in males; the rapid growth of the frontal sinuses occurs more in men in the 1st age group, whereas in women, the formation of the frontal sinus is smoother and more uniform during the whole life. Conclusion. Men have depth prevailing characteristics of frontal sinuses in the 1st age group and the width on the left side in the 2nd age group differing significantly in comparison to women group; height of the sinus in men decreases with age, whereas in women it does not change its value significantly; bilateral values for the parameters of the frontal sinus do not have reliable sex and age differences.

Studying of linear craniometric parameters and three-dimensional arrangement of intranasal structures and perinasal sinuses are necessary for rhinosurgery. The variation of anatomical organization and misdoings during surgical interventions require more thorough studying of morphometric data and topographic mutual relations that lead to the searching of new, authentic and noninvasive methods of sinusitis diagnostics.
Изучена взаимосвязь размеров структур решетчатой кости с полом, формами свода и основания черепа, формой лицевого черепа; при статистической обработке материала определены достоверные различия величин изучаемых образований; проведен сравнительный анализ полученных данных при проведении стандартной и виртуальной краниометрии. Методом краниометрии получены линейные широтные, высотные, длиннотные размеры решетчатых лабиринтов и решетчатой пластинки решетчатой кости, их средние значения. Компьютерная краниометрия проведена по разработанной нами компьютерной программе, основанной на совместном применении компьютерной томографии и стереотопометрии. Выявлены зависимости размеров структур решетчатой кости от пола, формы основания и лицевого черепа. По форме мозгового черепа во всех группах черепов по изучаемым образованиям зависимости не получено. Сравнительный анализ результатов при стандартной и виртуальной краниометрии выявил различия по всем признакам, разница их значений составляет десятые доли миллиметра. Компьютерная краниометрия позволяет проводить прижизненные стандартизированные исследования с высокой точностью и использовать их в практической медицине.
