Results of the experimental and theoretical researches of the impact deformation during upsetting of cylindrical workpieces with decreasing of impact load and increasing of work of plastic deformation are shown. New formulas for definition of deformation work and drop parts mass during hammer upsetting are proposed.
The paper considers the results of experimental and theoretical research of the impact at upsetting blanks on hammers in hot deformation, showing the possibility of increasing the contact time of the hammer head with a workpiece, increasing the degree of deformation of the workpiece, reducing the strength of deformation in upsetting and increase efficiency in the use of blow of hammer head with a filler and confirming the earlier data on upsetting lead blanks.
