Morpho-topographic particularities of some parietal and visceral lymphatic centres from the abdominal and pelvic cavities of the coypu were studied. Within the parietal lymphatic centres the lumbar and the iliosacral lymphatic centres were analysed. The caudal mesenteric and the cecum lymph centres were approached within the visceral lymphatic centres. Three adult coypu (Myocastor coypus) bodies, without morphopathological changes, were used as study material. The working method consisted of injection with India ink dye, 40% solution in physiological saline, into the sites of choice. Stratigraphic and regional dissections were also performed. The iliosacral lymphatic centre is readily identified in the terminal region of the descending aorta artery, being represented by the medium iliac lymph nodes. The right medial lymph node is in relation with the terminal portion of the aorta located to its left, but also with the lateral portion of the origin of the common iliac trunk artery. Iliac lateral lymph nodes have not been identified in any of the bodies. The renal lymph nodes are located on each side of the abdominal aorta artery, caudal to the origin of the renal artery and are easily identifiable. The celiac lymph nodes could be noticed at the origin of the celiac artery. The median sacral lymph nodes are represented by two formations arranged between the two common iliac vessels and also by two other formations positioned at the origin of the median sacral artery. The caudal mesenteric lymphatic centre is represented as a lymph node located near the cranial branch of the cranial mesenteric artery.
The study aimed to identify and describe the particularities of the pelvic limb muscles in coypu. In order to emphasize the muscles of the pelvic limb, four coypu corpses were used. The working method used was the stratigraphic and regional dissection.During the dissection, the superficial structureswere conserved in relation to the muscle insertions and with the adjacent neurovascular and lymphatic structures. We noticed that the gluteal superficial muscle merged with the fascialata tensor muscle, as well as with the femoral biceps muscle in its caudal part. The obturator muscle and the lumbrical muscles were well developed, whilethe sartorius muscle was missing. The caudal tibial muscle did not participate in formation of the long flexor muscle of the leg.The two tendons of the short digital extensor lied along the long digital extensor tendons for fingers II and III.The origin of the long fibular muscle was on the caudal edge of the upper third of the fibula. Its tendon passed on the lateral side of the fibular malleolus, along with the short fibular muscle tendons and lateral digital extensor, and the final insertion was at the base of the first metatarsus and the medial cuneiform bones.
Dentition is specialised in the case of Ursidae and Mustelidae due to their main morphological components and feeding habits. Bears lack the superior and inferior carnassial teeth. Bear dentition is also not typically carnivorous because the molars do not have sharp crests during their growth, which is the case with canids and felids. Among mustelids, the otter and the badger skulls were studied. In these species the molars are tuberculated, specific for the omnivore nutrition.
In various specialized works, the aspects concerning the muscles morphology in swine aren’t very detailed. This is due to the fact that the frequence of terapeutical interventions and in the first place, the surgical interventions in this segment and at this specie is not very high. Still, in the last years the comparative medicine has continued to enhance new experimental models on swine and the interest for knowing the anatomy and physiology of this animal has increased. Our comparative study has emphasized some morphological differences between the two species unreported in specialized literature, that showed especially the strengthening of the stay apparatus in boar. We can highlight the development of the tendons that flank the scapular humeral joint and the shaping of a bicipital tendon brace at that specie.
The lymphatic system consists of lymph nodes, lymphatic vessels and lymph. In this current clinical examination, only lymph nodes are examined. The lymphatic vessels are examined only in pathological cases and the lymph is not a normal subject for an examination (the harvesting is very difficult). In swine , the examination of lymph nodes is difficult (sometimes possible only for weak pigs) because of the subcutaneous fat. The most important figures are offered, in this situation, by the lymph nodes examination in necropsy exam or from the animal after slaughtering it. The studies accomplished in this work have the purpose to offer, to whom it may concern, useful information about the morphology and the topography of muscular lymph nodes for the pelvic limb in swine, taking into account the fact that for the veterinary control of the meat we have to include the veterinary examination, before slaughter. The study material was represented by pieces that came from 4 swine individuals with an average weight of 40kg. The most used method was dissection, executed bilaterally and in successive plans to the limit of visibility, using the Nikon SMZ 2T stereomicroscope, that the Domestic Animal Anatomy Laboratory is equipped with. There were identified the relations between the lymph nodes and the blood vessels and were taken notes about individual variations. The lymph nodes of the pelvic limb in swine are consistently represented by: iliofemoral, scrotal or mammary, sub iliac, ischial, gluteus and superficial popliteal. Besides the fact that, generally, the accessory lymph nodes are missing, yet they are found in 50% of cases into the deep popliteal lymph node, located in the gap between gluteus biceps and semitendinosus, embedded into the fat tissue.
The jaguar is one of the biggest cats in South and Central America. It has a morphology similar tothat of the leopard, which is why we tried to establish the anatomical characteristics of its limb bones, fromwhich it is possible to do morphological and functional assessments. The study materials consisted of thebones of a male jaguar (Panthera onca) with melanism which had been donated for teaching purposes by theZoological Garden in Bucharest. Whereas it is a rare species, we describe in detail its limb bonemorphology, in order to complete the existing data in the literature.
At both ovines and canines, the carpal, metacarpophalangeal and interphalangeal joints are predominantly organized in order for flexion and extension to be possible.cSince these movements are made in the same way for all joints mentioned, extensor muscles are grouped on the back and flexor muscles are on the palmar. At dogs, supinator muscles are framed in terms of topography, in extensor, dorsal muscle group and the pronator muscle in flexor, palmar muscle group.
The researches were realized on anatomical preparations derived from 6 specimens of Struthio camelus. The glenoid fossa formed by scapula and coracoid is very small relative to the size of the girdle and faces laterally. This joint has a thick and wide capsule. There are two main ligaments: dorsal scapulohumeral and dorsal coracohumeral, which appear like strong reinforcement only of the dorsal part of the capsule. The elbow joint have dorsal collateral, ventral collateral and cranial cubiti ligaments. In addition, ligament transversum radioulnare and proximal interoseus ligament joint the proximal extremity of radius and ulna.
