It was shown that episulfonium intermediates can be generated from β-halo thioethers by exchange reaction with silver borofluoride, and it was established that the main direction of the reaction of nucleophilic reagents with the intermediates is attack at the carbon atom.
It was shown that a stable intermediate of the episulfonium ion type can be generated by the reaction of cyclohexene with phenylsulfenyl fluoborate, and its reactions with nucleophilic reagents were studied.
