AbstractDie luftempfindlichen Hydridoruthenat‐Komplexe K [(Ph3P), ?hg P‐C6H4 ‐lkuH, T‐Naphthalin ‐ Ether (HPR) und K; [(Ph3P)3 Ph2PRu2 H4 12′ ° 2 Diglyme (Ph = Phenyl) (DHPR) bewirken die homogene Katalyse der Hydrierung (620 kPa) von Ketonen oder Aldehyden wie z.B. Aceton (I) Cyclohexanon oder Propanal innerhalb von 16 bzw. 1 h zu den entsprechenden Alkoholen wie z.B. (II) und Kondensationsprodukten wie (III), wobei ein Zusatz von 18‐ Krone‐ö die Reaktionsdauer teilweise erheblich verkürzt.
The photochemical decomposition of Nd3+/EDTA and Ho3+/EDTA has been carried out at 300 nm, and followed by changes within the hypersensitive absorption transitions of these ions. It was found that a single decarboxylation of the EDTA ligand occurred, and CO2 gas was evolved. The reaction terminates after approx. 1 mol of CO2 per mole of EDTA is produced, since the photoproduct absorbs strongly at 300 nm. Initial quantum yields were found to vary with pH, but averaged between 0.1 and 0.5 mol/Einstein.

AbstractDie Hydrierung z.B. von Anthracen unter Druck in THF und in Gegenwart des anionischen Hydridkomplexes (Ph3P)2(Ph2PC6H4 kuH;K ‐C",H8‐(Et2O) bei 100°C führt nach 20stündiger Reaktion bei 99proz. Umsatz zu 98% Tetrahydroanthracen und 2% 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8‐Octahydro‐anthracen.
The homogeneous catalytic hydrogenation of activated and simple aliphatic carboxylic acid esters to their corresponding primary alcohols has been accomplished under mild conditions [90 °C; 620 kPa (gauge) of hydrogen] using a novel anionic ruthenium hydride complex.
