The purpose of this presentation is to present financial data gathered by a survey of AAPOS members. This will be the fifth consecutive year that key metrics for a successful pediatric ophthalmology practice have been evaluated and discussed. Each year, the survey continues to be refined. This year will debut a new survey platform intended to minimize unreliable responses and diminish loss of data due to incomplete surveys.

After completing residency and a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology, young ophthalmologists (YOs) are prepared to take care of patients and provide excellent medical and surgical care. However, often the YO is unprepared for challenges in practice management, malpractice avoidance, office relations, and the general business of an effective practice. This workshop aims to help highlight these nonclinical challenges and provide solutions to the budding pediatric ophthalmologist, or new ideas for the seasoned pediatric ophthalmologist who is looking for a change.
