We also provide an improved measurement of B(D+ → ηeνe) = (11.4 ± 0.9 ± 0.4) × 10−4, provide the first form factor measurement, and set the improved upper limit B(D+ → φ eνe) < 0.9× 10−4 (90% C.L.). ∗ Now at: Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, Richland, WA 99352 † Now at: Rutgers University, Piscataway, New Jersey 08855, USA
A search is made for the highly-suppressed B meson decays B^+→ K^+K^+π^- and B^+→π^+π^+K^- using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb^-1 collected by the LHCb experiment in proton-proton collisions at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV. No evidence is found for the decays, and upper limits at 90% confidence level are determined to be ℬ(B^+→ K^+K^+π^-) < 1.1× 10^-8 and ℬ(B^+→π^+π^+K^-) < 4.6× 10^-8.
The first full amplitude analysis of B^{+}→J/ψϕK^{+} with J/ψ→μ^{+}μ^{-}, ϕ→K^{+}K^{-} decays is performed with a data sample of 3 fb^{-1} of pp collision data collected at sqrt[s]=7 and 8 TeV with the LHCb detector. The data cannot be described by a model that contains only excited kaon states decaying into ϕK^{+}, and four J/ψϕ structures are observed, each with significance over 5 standard deviations. The quantum numbers of these structures are determined with significance of at least 4 standard deviations. The lightest has mass consistent with, but width much larger than, previous measurements of the claimed X(4140) state.
A search is made for the highly-suppressed B meson decays B+ -> K+K+pi(-) and B+ -> pi(+)pi K-+(-) using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb(-1) collected by the LHCb experiment in proton-proton collisions at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV. No evidence is found for the decays, and upper limits at 90% confidence level are determined to be B(B+ -> K+K+pi(-))< 1.1 x 10(-8) and B(B+ -> pi(+)pi K-+(-)) < 4.6 x 10(-8). (C) 2016 The Author. The first observation of the decay eta(c)(2S) -> p (p) over bar is reported using proton -proton collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb(-1) recorded by the LHCb experiment at centre -of -mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV. The eta c(2S) resonance is produced in the decay B+ [c (c) over bar ]K+. The product of branching fractions normalised to that for the intermediate state, R-eta c,(2s), is measured to beR-eta c,(2s) equivalent to B(B+-> eta c (2S)K+) x B(eta c(2s)(2S) -> p<<(p)over bar> )/B(B+ -> J/psi k(+)) x B(J/psi -> p<<(p)over bar> ) = (1.58 +/- 0.33 +/- 0.09) x 10(-2),where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. No signals for the decays B+ -> X(3872)(-> p (p) over bar )K+ and B+ psi(3770)(-> p (p) over bar )K+ are seen, and the 95% confidence level upper limits on their relative branching ratios are found to be R-x(3872) < 0.25 x 10(-2) and R-psi(3770) < 0.10. In addition, the mass differences between the nc(1S) and the J/psi states, between the eta(c)(2S) and the eta(c)(2S) states, and the natural width of the psi(1S) are measured asM-J/psi - M-eta c(7s)= 110.2 +/- 0.5 +/- 0.9 MeV,M psi(2S) - M-eta c (2S) = 52.5 +/- 1.7 +/- 0.6MeV, Gamma(eta c) (1s) = 34.0 +/- 1.9 +/- 1.3 MeV.(C) 2017 Published by Elsevier B.V.

A measurement of the differential branching fraction of the decay B 0 → K ∗ (892) 0 μ + μ − is presented together with a determination of the S-wave fraction of the K + π − system in the decay B 0 → K + π − μ + μ − . The analysis is based on pp -collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb −1 collected with the LHCb experiment. The measurements are made in bins of the invariant mass squared of the dimuon system, q 2 . Precise theoretical predictions for the differential branching fraction of B 0 → K ∗ (892) 0 μ + μ − decays are available for the q 2 region 1 . 1 < q 2 < 6 . 0 GeV 2 /c 4 . In this q 2 region, for the K + π − invariant mass range 796 < m Kπ < 996 MeV /c 2 , the S-wave fraction of the K + π − system in B 0 → K + π − μ + μ − decays is found to be F_S=0.101± 0.017(stat)± 0.009(syst), and the differential branching fraction of B 0 → K ∗ (892) 0 μ + μ − decays is determined to be dℬ/dq^2=(0.392_-0.019^+0.020(stat)± 0.010(syst)± 0.027(norm))× 10^-7c^4/GeV^2. The differential branching fraction measurements presented are the most precise to date and are found to be in agreement with Standard Model predictions.

Amplitude models are applied to studies of resonance structure in ${D}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}_{S}^{0}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}$ and ${D}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}_{S}^{0}{K}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ decays using $pp$ collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $3.0\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{fb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ collected by the LHCb experiment. Relative magnitude and phase information is determined, and coherence factors and related observables are computed for both the whole phase space and a restricted region of $100\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{MeV}/{c}^{2}$ around the ${K}^{*}(892{)}^{\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}}$ resonance. Two formulations for the $K\ensuremath{\pi}\text{ }S$-wave are used, both of which give a good description of the data. The ratio of branching fractions $\mathcal{B}({D}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}_{S}^{0}{K}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}})/\mathcal{B}({D}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}_{S}^{0}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\mathrm{\ensuremath{\pi}}}^{+})$ is measured to be $0.655\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.004(\mathrm{stat})\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.006(\mathrm{syst})$ over the full phase space and $0.370\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.003(\mathrm{stat})\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.012(\mathrm{syst})$ in the restricted region. A search for $CP$ violation is performed using the amplitude models and no significant effect is found. Predictions from SU(3) flavor symmetry for ${K}^{*}(892)K$ amplitudes of different charges are compared with the amplitude model results.
Using a data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3fb(-1), collected by the LHCb experiment in ppcollisions at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8TeV, the effective lifetime in the B-s(0) -> J/Psi eta decay mode, teff, is measured to betau(eff) = 1.479 +/- 0.034 (stat)+/- 0.011 (syst) ps.Assuming CP conservation, tau(eff) corresponds to the lifetime of the light B-s(0) mass eigenstate. This is the first measurement of the effective lifetime in this decay mode. (C) 2016 The Author. Published by Elsevier B.V.

bstract An angular analysis of the B 0 → K *0 (→ K + π − ) μ + μ − decay is presented. The dataset corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb −1 of pp collision data collected at the LHCb experiment. The complete angular information from the decay is used to determine CP -averaged observables and CP asymmetries, taking account of possible contamination from decays with the K + π − system in an S-wave configuration. The angular observables and their correlations are reported in bins of q 2 , the invariant mass squared of the dimuon system. The observables are determined both from an unbinned maximum likelihood fit and by using the principal moments of the angular distribution. In addition, by fitting for q 2 -dependent decay amplitudes in the region 1.1 < q 2 < 6.0 GeV 2 / c 4 , the zero-crossing points of several angular observables are computed. A global fit is performed to the complete set of CP -averaged observables obtained from the maximum likelihood fit. This fit indicates differences with predictions based on the Standard Model at the level of 3.4 standard deviations. These differences could be explained by contributions from physics beyond the Standard Model, or by an unexpectedly large hadronic effect that is not accounted for in the Standard Model predictions.
The production of ψ (2 S ) mesons is studied in dimuon final states using proton-lead ( p Pb) collision data collected by the LHCb detector. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 1 . 6 nb −1 . The nucleon-nucleon centre-of-mass energy of the p Pb collisions is √(s_N N)=5 TeV. The measurement is performed using ψ (2 S ) mesons with transverse momentum less than 14 GeV/ c and rapidity y in the ranges 1 . 5 < y < 4 . 0 and −5 . 0 < y < −2 . 5 in the nucleon-nucleon centre-of-mass system. The forward-backward production ratio and the nuclear modification factor are determined for ψ (2 S ) mesons. Using the production cross-section results of ψ (2 S ) and J/ψ mesons from b -hadron decays, the bb cross-section in p Pb collisions at √(s_N N)=5 TeV is obtained.
The CP asymmetry in the mixing of B_{s}^{0} and B[over ¯]_{s}^{0} mesons is measured in proton-proton collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb^{-1}, recorded by the LHCb experiment at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV. Semileptonic B_{s}^{0} and B[over ¯]_{s}^{0} decays are studied in the inclusive mode D_{s}^{∓}μ^{±}ν[over (-)]_{μ}X with the D_{s}^{∓} mesons reconstructed in the K^{+}K^{-}π^{∓} final state. Correcting the observed charge asymmetry for detection and background effects, the CP asymmetry is found to be a_{sl}^{s}=(0.39±0.26±0.20)%, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. This is the most precise measurement of a_{sl}^{s} to date. It is consistent with the prediction from the standard model and will constrain new models of particle physics.
