Seventy-four Mexican entrepreneurs were interviewed in Cuernevaca, Morelos to ascertain the reasons the entrepreneurs had started or acquired their businesses and, also, to explore the most pressing problems the entrepreneurs had faced during start-up. The most important reasons for start-up were familiarity with product or market and experience in business. The most important problems facing the entrepreneurs were the effects of the economy--devaluation, recession and inflation.
This paper examines the applicable provisions of the American with Disabilities Act (ADA), the regulations issued and the compliance guidelines established which affect pre-offer employment interviews with prospective employees. Strategies are proposed for assisting employers in preparing and conducting pre-offer interviews in order to avoid violations of the ADA (1990).
