Introduction/Background Human papillomavirus (HPV) is one of the most common sexually transmitted diseases, worldwide. In most cases, HPV correlates with transient infections, but its persistence can lead to precancerous and cancerous lesions in various districts. To date, no data supports the execution of vaccination after hysterectomy for high-grade cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN2+) and early-stage cervical cancer (CC). We aim to evaluate the potential effect of vaccination after hysterectomy for high-grade cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and early-stage cervical cancer Methodology This is a multi-center retrospective study evaluating data of women who develop lower genital tract dysplasia (including anal, vulvar and vaginal intra-epithelial neoplasia) after having hysterectomy for CIN2+ and FIGO stage IA1- IB1 CC Results Overall, charts for 77 patients who developed lower genital tract dysplasia were collected.The study population included 62 (80.5%) and 15 (19.5%) patients with CIN2+ and early-stage CC, respectively. The median (range) time between hysterectomy and diagnosis of develop lower genital tract dysplasia was 38 (range, 14–62) months. HPV types covered by the nonavalent HPV vaccination would potentially cover 94.8% of the development of lower genital tract dysplasia.Restricting the analysis to the 18 patients with available HPV data at the time of hysterectomy, the beneficial effect of nonvalent vaccination was 89%. However, considering that patients with persistent HPV types (with the same HPV types at the time of hysterectomy and who developed lower genital tract dysplasia) would not benefit from vaccination, we estimated the potential protective effect of vaccination to be 67% (12 out of 18 patients; four patients had a persistent infection for the same HPV types). Conclusion Our retrospective analysis supported the adoption of HPV vaccination in patients having treatment for HPV-related disease.Even in the absence of the uterine cervix, HPV vaccination would protect against develop lower genital tract dysplasia.Further prospective studies have to confirm our preliminary research. OBJECTIVES:The aim of this study of this study was to evaluate preoperative radiology and histopathology findings in cervical cancer lymphadenopathy detection, allowing targeted frozen section examination (FSE). DESIGN:A retrospective analysis was conducted of 203 early-stage cervical cancer patients between 2010 and 2019 in a tertiary centre. PARTICIPANTS/MATERIALS, SETTING, AND METHODS:All patients had histologically confirmed cervical cancer and underwent magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) prior to intraoperative FSE. The primary objectives of the study were to determine the diagnostic accuracy of intraoperative FSE in the identification of lymph node metastases (LNM) in early-stage cervical cancer by correlation with final results obtained using standard histopathology techniques and to examine different preoperative, intraoperative, demographic, radiological, and histopathological factors that could identify those at greatest risk of nodal disease and hence predict those most likely to benefit from FSE, enabling more selective and targeted use. RESULTS:Nineteen patients were found to have LNM (9.36%) at FSE. Patients were at increased risk of LNM by 6-fold with positive LVSI, 3-fold with MRI lymphadenopathy, and 3.5-fold with MRI-visible disease. The presence of lymphadenopathy on MRI and positive LVSI in combination increased the risk of LNM by 19-fold. LIMITATIONS:We acknowledge that FSE is expensive and time intensive, exposing patients to increased surgery duration and associated risk. We also recognize that it may not be feasible for all patients. Finally, the analysis is limited by retrospective nature of the study. CONCLUSIONS:By application of the preoperative risk stratification algorithm, we may suggest that FSE can be a useful tool in high-risk patients.

STUDY OBJECTIVE:To investigate postoperative surgical and non-surgical complications that occur within 30 days following myomectomy procedures, whether laparoscopic or via open surgery. DESIGN:Prospective cohort study SETTING: Del Ponte Women's and Children's Hospital, Varese, Italy. PATIENTS:Women undergoing myomectomy either with laparoscopic or open surgery from July 2020 to June 2023 INTERVENTIONS: Data of consecutive patients who underwent abdominal myomectomy procedures, either via laparoscopy or open abdominal surgery were collected. The study examined patient characteristics, size and location of fibroids, surgical data, and complications. Univariate and multivariable analyses were employed to identify factors contributing to postoperative Clavien-Dindo grade ≥ II complications. MEASUREMENTS AND MAIN RESULTS:Overall 383 patients were included in the study. The univariate analysis showed intramural fibroid type (p = .0009), large fibroid size (p = .03), and extended operative times (p = .05) were associated with postoperative complications. Open surgical approach (p <.001) and uterine cavity opening (p = .02) also contributed to complications. Postoperative anemia emerged as the most prevalent complication. In the multivariable analysis, the open surgical approach emerged as the only independent factor associated with an increased risk of grade ≥ II complications (odds ratio 7.37; p <.0001). CONCLUSION:In this study we found an increased likelihood of complications in case of open myomectomy. While the presence of potential selection bias may have impacted this finding, it could provide valuable insights for clinicians and surgical teams in the strategic planning of myomectomy procedures.
Objective: The objective of this study was to investigate surgical outcomes and complications of hysterectomy for benign conditions other than prolapse in elderly patients and to define predictors of prolonged hospitalization. Design: Retrospective analysis of prospectively collected data. Setting: This study was conducted in an academic research center. Patients: We utilized our institution surgical database to identify patients aged 60 years or more (“elderly”) who underwent hysterectomy for benign conditions other than pelvic organ prolapse during a 20-year period (January 2000–December 2019). Methods: Length of stay (LOS) of more than 2 days (90th percentile of LOS) was defined as prolonged hospitalization. Patient demographics, comorbid conditions, and surgical approach (vaginal hysterectomy (VH), laparoscopic hysterectomy (LH), and abdominal hysterectomy (AH)) were identified. Patients treated via LH or VH were also grouped as minimally invasive surgery (MIS). Multivariable logistic regression was used to identify factors associated with prolonged LOS. Results: Overall, 334 patients were included in this study, 262 (78.4%) of whom underwent LH, 42 (12.6%) VH, and 30 (9.0%) AH. Median LOS was 2 days (1–8), and 63 (18.8%) patients required prolonged LOS. Compared to AH, median hospital stay was shorter in MIS group (2 days vs. 3 days, p < 0.001). No admission variables were associated with prolonged LOS. The only independent predictors of prolonged LOS were AH (odds ratio 24.82, 95% CI 4.84–127.16) and operative time (odds ratio for 30 mins increased 11.34, 95% CI 1.63–78.78). Compared to those who underwent VH, patients having LH had a higher rate of concomitant salpingo-oophorectomy (96.6% vs. 61.9%, p < 0.001). Limitations: Retrospective single-center study design, number of patients with prolonged hospitalization, and the setting (tertiary minimally invasive gynecology referral center), which might have reduced the generalizability of our results are the limitations of this study. Conclusions: The abdominal route of hysterectomy was found as the main driver of prolonged hospitalization, reinforcing the benefits of MIS for benign hysterectomy in elderly patients with non-prolapsed uteri; the higher chance of performing concomitant salpingo-oophorectomy supports the laparoscopic approach as the first option for these patients.
The objective of this work is to assess the 5-year outcomes of patients undergoing conization for high-grade cervical lesions that simultaneously present as risk factors in the persistence of HPV infection and the positivity of surgical resection margins. This is a retrospective study evaluating patients undergoing conization for high-grade cervical lesions. All patients included had both positive surgical margins and experienced HPV persistence at 6 months. Associations were evaluated with Cox proportional hazard regression and summarized using hazard ratio (HR). The charts of 2966 patients undergoing conization were reviewed. Among the whole population, 163 (5.5%) patients met the inclusion criteria, being at high risk due to the presence of positive surgical margins and experiencing HPV persistence. Of 163 patients included, 17 (10.4%) patients developed a CIN2+ recurrence during the 5-year follow-up. Via univariate analyses, diagnosis of CIN3 instead of CIN2 (HR: 4.88 (95%CI: 1.10, 12.41); p = 0.035) and positive endocervical instead of ectocervical margins (HR: 6.44 (95%CI: 2.80, 9.65); p < 0.001) were associated with increased risk of persistence/recurrence. Via multivariate analyses, only positive endocervical instead of ectocervical margins (HR: 4.56 (95%CI: 1.23, 7.95); p = 0.021) were associated with worse outcomes. In this high-risk group, positive endocervical margins is the main risk factor predicting 5-year recurrence.
Objective: To compare outcomes after hysterectomy and hysterectomy plus sentinel node mapping (SNM) in endometrial cancer (EC) patients. Materials and methods: This is a retrospective study, collecting data of EC patients treated between 2006 and 2016 in nine referral centers. Results: The study population included 398 (69.5%) and 174 (30.5%) patients having hysterectomy and hysterectomy plus SNM. As the results of the adoption of a propensity-score matched analysis, we selected two homogeneous cohort of patients (150 having hysterectomy only vs. 150 having hysterec-tomy plus SNM). The SNM group had a longer operative time, but did not correlate with length of hospital stay and estimated blood loss. Overall severe complication rates were similar between groups (0.7% in the hysterectomy group vs. 1.3% in the hysterectomy plus SNM group; p 1/4 0.561). No lymphatic-specific complication occurred. Overall, 12.6% of patients having SNM were diagnosed with disease harboring in their lymph nodes. Adjuvant therapy administration rate was similar between groups. Considering patients having SNM, 4% of patients received adjuvant therapy on the basis of nodal status alone; all the other patients received adjuvant therapy also on the basis of uterine risk factors. Five-year disease-free (p = 0.720) and overall (p = 0.632) survival was not influenced by surgical approach. Conclusions: Hysterectomy (with or without SNM) is a safe and effective method for managing EC patients. Potentially, these data support the omission of side specific lymphadenectomy in case of un-successful mapping. Further evidence is warranted in to confirm the role SNM in the era of molecular/genomic profiling. Objective. Sentinel lymph node mapping (SNM) has gained popularity in managing apparent early-stage endometrial cancer (EC). Here, we evaluated the long-term survival of three different approaches of nodal assessment.Methods. This is a multi-institutional retrospective study evaluating long-term outcomes of EC patients hav-ing nodal assessment between 01/01/2006 and 12/31/2016. In order to reduce possible confounding factors, we applied a propensity-matched algorithm.Results. Overall, 940 patients meeting inclusion criteria were included in the study, of which 174 (18.5%), 187 (19.9%), and 579 (61.6%) underwent SNM, SNM followed by backup lymphadenectomy (LND) and LND alone, respectively. Applying a propensity score matching algorithm (1:1:2) we selected 500 patients, including 125 SNM, 125 SNM/backup LND, and 250 LND. Baseline characteristics of the study population were similar between groups. The prevalence of nodal disease was 14%, 16%, and 12% in patients having SNM, SNM/backup LND and LND, respectively. Overall, 19 (7.6%) patients were diagnosed with low volume nodal disease. The survival analysis comparing the three techniques did not show statistical differences in terms of disease-free (p = 0.750) and overall survival (p = 0.899). Similarly, the type of nodal assessment did not impact survival outcomes after stratification based on uterine risk factors.Conclusion. Background: Cervical dysplasia persistence/recurrence has a great impact on women’s health and quality of life. In this study, we investigated whether a prognostic nomogram may improve risk assessment after primary conization. Methods: This is a retrospective multi-institutional study based on charts of consecutive patients undergoing conization between 1 January 2010 and 31 December 2014. A nomogram assessing the importance of different variables was built. A cohort of patients treated between 1 January 2015 and 30 June 2016 was used to validate the nomogram. Results: A total of 2966 patients undergoing primary conization were analyzed. The median (range) patient age was 40 (18–89) years. At 5-year of follow-up, 6% of patients (175/2966) had developed a persistent/recurrent cervical dysplasia. Median (range) recurrence-free survival was 18 (5–52) months. Diagnosis of CIN3, presence of HR-HPV types, positive endocervical margins, HPV persistence, and the omission of HPV vaccination after conization increased significantly and independently of the risk of developing cervical dysplasia persistence/recurrence. A nomogram weighting the impact of all variables was built with a C-Index of 0.809. A dataset of 549 patients was used to validate the nomogram, with a C-index of 0.809. Conclusions: The present nomogram represents a useful tool for counseling women about their risk of persistence/recurrence after primary conization. HPV vaccination after conization is associated with a reduced risk of CIN2+.
per year (p<0.05). The 65–69 year old group had the highest incidence (185.4). With respect to race, the highest baseline incidence was in Blacks at 49.5 that increased 2.3% per year (AAPC). Whites had an incidence of 43.6 with an annual percent increase of only 0.4%. The Hispanics had an incidence of 35.0 (AAPC=1.1%), then Asians incidence 24.0 (AAPC=1.3%). The intersectionality of age and race showed that the group with the highest risk was 65–69 year old and Black with an incidence of 281.1 (AAPC=2.3%). Conclusion The intersectionality of age and race found age 65–69 Black women with the highest incidence of uterine cancer with a six-fold increase compared to the general population, using hysterectomy-corrected data. Further studies are warranted to determine potential genetic, social-determinant, or environment exposures to explain these findings.
Objective. To evaluate the outcomes of high-risk (HR) HPV-positive and-negative women affected by high-grade cervical dysplasia. Methods. This is a retrospective multi-institutional study. Medical records of consecutive patients with high-grade cervical dysplasia undergoing conization between 2010 and 2014 were retrieved. All patients included had at least 5 years of follow-up. A propensity-score matching was adopted in order to reduce the presence of con-founding factors between groups. Kaplan-Meir and Cox hazard models were used to estimate 5-year outcomes. Results. Overall, data of 2966 women, affected by high-grade cervical dysplasia were reviewed. The study population included 1478 (85%) and 260 (15%) women affected by HR-HPV-positive and HR-HPV-negative high-grade cervical dysplasia. The prevalence of CIN2 and CIN3 among the HR-HPV-positive and-negative cohort was similar (p = 0.315). Patients with HR-HPV-positive high-grade cervical dysplasia were at higher risk of 5-year recurrence (after primary conization) that HR-HPV-negative patients (p < 0.001, log-rank test). Via multi-variate analysis, HR-HPV-negative women were at low risk of recurrence (HR: 1.69 (95%CI: 1.05, 4.80); p = 0.018, Cox Hazard model). A propensity-score matched comparison was carried out in order to reduce biases that are related to the retrospective study design. In comparison to HR-HPV-negative patients, thosewith HR-HPV-positive CIN3 was associate with a 8-fold increase in the risk of recurrence (p < 0.001, log-rank test). Conclusions. HR-HPV-negative high-grade cervical dysplasia is not uncommon, accounting for 15% of our study population. Those patients experience more favorable outcomes than patients with documented HR-HPV infection(s). Further prospective studies are needed to corroborate our data. (c) 2021 Elsevier Inc. Ovarian cancer is the most fatal gynecological malignancy in developed areas. More than two-thirds of women with ovarian cancer have advanced disease at diagnosis. The standard treatment for advanced stage has been primary debulking surgery (PDS), aimed to achieve the complete resection of macroscopic disease, followed by platinum-based chemotherapy. The absence of residual tumor after surgical cytoreduction represents the most significant prognostic factor. The feasibility of complete cytoreduction depends on the resectability of the tumor and the operability of patients, respectively related to the extension of disease and patients' comorbidities. For cases where PDS is not feasible for these reasons, an alternative strategy was developed in the last decades, the so called interval debulking surgery (IDS). This pathway consists of three or four courses of neoadjuvant platinum-based chemotherapy followed by IDS and a completion of other three courses of platinum-based chemotherapy. Actually, it represents an effective option to improve the rate of women who could benefit of a cytoreductive surgery. In this review we critically explore the current literature and report the evidence about the role of IDS in the management of advanced ovarian cancer, focusing on pros and cons of both strategies (PDS and IDS) and patients' selection process.
Objective: To investigate factors predicting the risk of developing 90-day postoperative complications and lymphatic-specific morbidity in patients undergoing surgical staging for high-risk endometrial cancer. Methods: This is a multi-institutional retrospective cohort study. Patients affected by apparent early-stage high-risk endometrial cancer (endometrioid FIGO grade 3 with deep myometrial invasion and nonendometrioid endometrial cancer) undergoing surgical staging between 2007 and 2019. Complications were graded according to the Clavien-Dindo classification system. Martin criteria were applied to improve quality of complications reporting. Results: Charts of 279 patients were evaluated. Lymphadenectomy, sentinel node mapping (SNM), and SNM followed by back-up lymphadenectomy were performed in 83 (29.7%), 50 (17.9%), and 146 (52.4%) patients, respectively. The former group of patients included 13 patients who had lymphadenectomy after the failure of the SNM technique. Thirteen (4.6%) patients developed severe postoperative events (grade 3 or worse). At multivariate analysis, body mass index (OR: 1.08 (95%CI: 1.01, 1.17)) and open abdominal surgery (OR: 2.27 (95%CI: 1.02, 5.32)) were the two independent factors predictive of surgery-related morbidity. Seven severe lymphatic complications occurred. The adoption of laparoscopic approach (p < 0.001, log-rank test) and SNM (p = 0.038, log-rank test) correlated with a lower risk of developing surgery-related events. Independently, open abdominal surgery was associated with an increased risk of developing lymphatic morbidity (OR: 37.4 (95%CI: 4.38, 319.5); p = 0.001). Conclusion: The adoption of the laparoscopic approach and SNM technique were associated with lower 90-day complication rates than open surgery in high-risk endometrial cancer undergoing staging surgery. Only limited data about the adoption of SNM in high risk EC is still available. Here, we evaluate the outcomes of high-risk EC undergoing SNM (with or without back-up lymphadenectomy). Methods. This is a multi-institutional international retrospective study, evaluating data of high-risk (FIGO grade 3 endometrioid EC with myometrial invasion >50% and non-endometrioid histology) EC patients undergoing SNM followed by back-up lymphadenectomy and SNM alone. Results. Chart of consecutive 196 patients were evaluated. The study population included 83 and 113 patients with endometrioid and non-endometrioid EC, respectively. SNM alone and SNM followed by back-up lymphadenectomy were performed in 50 and 146 patients, respectively. Among patients having SNM alone, 14 (28%) were diagnosed with nodal disease. In the group of patients undergoing SNM plus back-up lymphadenectomy 34 (23.2%) were diagnosed with nodal disease via SNM. Back-up lymphadenectomy identified 2 (1%) additional patients with nodal disease (in the para-aortic area). Back-up lymphadenectomy allowed to remove adjunctive positive nodes in 16 (11%) patients. After the adoption of propensity-matched algorithm, we observed that patients undergoing SNM plus back-up lymphadenectomy experienced similar disease-free survival (p = 0.416, log-rank test) and overall survival (p = 0.940, log-rank test) than patients undergoing SLN alone. Conclusions. Although the small sample size, and the retrospective study design this study highlighted that type of nodal assessment did not impact survival outcomes in high-risk EC. Theoretically, back-up lymphadenectomy would be useful in improving the removal of positive nodes, but its therapeutic value remains controversial. Objective. The Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) is a pathway designed to achieve early recovery for patients undergoing major surgery. The ERAS pathway included three important components preoperative, intraoperative, postoperative program. Pre-habilitation and re-habilitation are of paramount importance to improve patients' care. The ERAS is based on evidence-based medicine. Accumulating evidence highlighted that adopting ERAS resulted in lower complication rate, and shorter length of hospital stay in comparison to standard protocols of care. The adoption of the ERAS resulted in a significant improvement of patients' outcomes and a reduction of the overall cost of care. In the present review, we summarized current evidence on ERAS, focusing on the steps useful for its adoption into clinical practice.

Surgery in advanced ovarian malignancy is indicated when complete debulking can be achieved. In patients with disease above the diaphragm, achieving R0 can present a surgical challenge and bring into question the feasibility of surgery (Soleymani majd et al., 2016, Pinelli et al., 2019). We present a surgical video demonstrating the technique of cardiophrenic lymph node dissection in advanced ovarian malignancy. Following type 3 liver mobilisation, the diaphragm is stripped and muscle opened to gain access to the thoracic cavity. Transdiaphragmatic assessment of the cardiophrenic lymph node bundle is performed. A bulky node – correlating with pre-operative radiology – is removed using an advanced energy device, maintaining the surrounding lung parenchyma and underlying pericardium safely in view throughout. The diaphragmatic is closed using a loop non-absorbable suture and placing continuous, locking sutures (Addley et al., 2021). We demonstrate that the presence of cardiophrenic lymphadenopathy is not an obstacle to complete debulking. By employing a trans-diaphragmatic technique to gain thoracic access, involved cardio-phrenic nodes – and hence all visible disease – can be surgically excised, successfully achieving R0 status and offering patients optimal prognosis.
OBJECTIVE:This study aimed to identify predictors of recurrence/persistence of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia grade 2+ (CIN2+) lesion (r-CIN2+) after primary conization.METHODS:Retrospective analysis involving all consecutive women having conization for CIN2+ between 1998 and 2018. The risk of r-CIN2+ was assessed using Kaplan-Meier and Cox models.RESULTS:Data of 3,212 women were retrospectively identified. After a mean follow-up of 47 (±22.2) months, 112 (3.5%) patients developed r-CIN2+. Mean time interval between prior conization and diagnosis of r-CIN2+ was 26.2 (±13.2) months. Via multivariate analysis, presence of high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV) types at the time of CIN2+ diagnosis, hazard ratio (HR)=3.40 (95% confidence interval [CI]=1.66-6.95) for HPV16/18 and HR=2.59 (95% CI=1.21-5.55) for HPV types other than 16/18, positive margins at primary conization, HR=4.11 (95% CI=2.04-8.26) and HPV persistence after conization, HR=16.69 (95% CI=8.20-33.9), correlated with r-CIN2+, independently. Considering age-specific HPV types distribution, we observed that HPV16/18 infection correlated to an increased risk of r-CIN2+ only in young women (aged ≤25 years; p=0.031, log-rank test); while in the older population (>25 years) HPV type(s) involved had not impact on r-CIN2+ risk (p>0.200, log-rank test).CONCLUSION:HPV persistence is the main factor predicting r-CIN2+. Infection from HPV16/18 has a detrimental effect in young women, thus highlighting the need of implementing vaccination against HPV in this population. Further prospective studies are warranted for tailoring clinical decision-making for post-conization follow-up on the basis of risk factors.
We present the first case of minilaparoscopic single-site bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy (BSO) performed as a risk-reducing procedure in a 39-year-old woman presenting with BRCA-1 mutation. Surgery was performed using only minilaparoscopic instruments inserted alternatively through two 3-mm umbilical trocars placed one next to the other. Following the BSO, specimens were retrieved within an endobag through the posterior vaginal fornix. No intraoperative or postoperative complications occurred. The patient was discharged home on the day of surgery. Thirty-day postoperative clinical evaluation was uneventful. In selected patients, the minilaparoscopic single-site approach might represent an alternative technique to minimize surgical trauma and morbidity in patients undergoing risk-reducing BSO.
ObjectiveRecent evidence has suggested that laparoscopic radical hysterectomy is associated with an increased risk of recurrence in comparison with open abdominal radical hysterectomy. The aim of our study was to identify patterns of recurrence after laparoscopic and open abdominal radical hysterectomy for cervical cancer.MethodsThis a retrospective multi-institutional study evaluating patients with recurrent cervical cancer after laparoscopic and open abdominal surgery performed between January 1990 and December 2018. Inclusion criteria were: age ≥18 years old, radical hysterectomy (type B or type C), no recurrent disease, and clinical follow-up >30 days. The primary endpoint was to evaluate patterns of first recurrence following laparoscopic and open abdominal radical hysterectomy. The secondary endpoint was to estimate the effect of the primary surgical approach (laparoscopy and open surgery) in post-recurrence survival outcomes (event-free survival and overall survival). In order to reduce possible confounding factors, we applied a propensity-matching algorithm. Survival outcomes were estimated using the Kaplan-Meier model.ResultsA total of 1058 patients were included in the analysis (823 underwent open abdominal radical hysterectomy and 235 patients underwent laparoscopic radical hysterectomy). The study included 117 (14.2%) and 35 (14.9%) patients who developed recurrent cervical cancer after open or laparoscopic surgery, respectively. Applying a propensity matched comparison (1:2), we reduced the population to 105 patients (35 vs 70 patients with recurrence after laparoscopic and open radical hysterectomy). Median follow-up time was 39.1 (range 4–221) months and 32.3 (range 4–124) months for patients undergoing open and laparoscopic surgery, respectively. Patients undergoing laparoscopic radical hysterectomy had shorter progression-free survival than patients undergoing open abdominal surgery (HR 1.98, 95% CI 1.32 to 2.97; p=0.005). Patients undergoing laparoscopic radical hysterectomy were more likely to develop intrapelvic recurrences (74% vs 34%; p<0.001) and peritoneal carcinomatosis (17% vs 1%; p=0.005) than patients undergoing open surgery.ConclusionsPatients undergoing laparoscopic radical hysterectomy are at higher risk of developing intrapelvic recurrences and peritoneal carcinomatosis. Further evidence is needed in order to corroborate our findings.
