Background and Purpose: Mucormycosis and Aspergillosis square measure the foremost frequent fungal infections caused by these filiform fungi. Coinfection is scarce and incorporates a poor prognosis. The commonest presentation of invasive fungal infection (IFI) is rhinocerebral involvement. It ordinarily affects immunocompromised patients. Case report: A 55-year-old post-COVID male patient with uncontrolled Diabetes Mellitus developed swelling and chemosis in the left eye. In plain CT orbit, mucosal thickenings were seen in the ethmoid, sphenoid, left frontal, and left maxillary sinuses without any erosions or extensions. Nasal endoscopy showed black-brown overgrowth on the left middle turbinate. Biopsy revealed growth of both Mucor and Aspergillus. The patient was treated for Diabetic Ketoacidosis along with Amphotericin-B for anti-fungal management and showed significant improvement and is stable. Conclusion: It is probably the first rare case of coinfection with Mucormycosis (Rhizopus spp.) and Aspergillosis (Aspergillus flavus). Early diagnosis is a major advantage in management. The multidisciplinary approach of such cases is invaluable. The implementation of higher diagnostic methods including PCR in the diagnosis at all tertiary care facilities. A refined selection of post-COVID cases in higher numbers and cautious collection and processing of patient specimens will certainly attribute to higher chances of a definitive diagnosis and an early initiation of specific and efficient treatment.
In the present investigation, TiO2 nanostructures were synthesised via a simple sol-gel technique and characterised with X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy with energy-dispersive X-ray analysis (SEM-EDX), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM) and ultraviolet-visible (UV-vis) spectroscopy. The temperature and concentration dependence of thermal conductivity enhancement (TCE) and ultrasonic velocity have been explored in ethylene glycol-based TiO2 nanofluids. The obtained results showed 24% enhancement in thermal conductivity at higher temperature (80°C) of the base fluid ethylene glycol by adding 1.0 wt% of TiO2 nanoparticles. The behaviour of TCE and ultrasonic velocity with temperature in prepared nanofluids has been explained with the help of existing phenomena. The increase in ultrasonic velocity in ethylene glycol with TiO2 nanoparticles shows that a strong cohesive interaction force arises among the nanoparticles and base fluid. These results divulge that TiO2 nanoparticles can be considered for applications in next-generation heat transfer in nanofluids.
Background Increase in resistance to conventional antifungals renders the need for antifungal sensitivity testing in Dermatophytes. The present study aimed at determining the prevalence of dermatophytic infections and their susceptibility pattern in a rural healthcare facility. Methods Patients with suspected dermatophytosis attending the dermatology outpatient department were enrolled in the study. Specimen collection for mycological examinations was done. In-vitro antifungal sensitivity testing was performed as per the Clinical and Laboratory Standard Institute (CLSI) M38-A2 (2008) standards with broth microdilution method. Results Onychomycosis was the commonest (41.9%) presentation. Dermatophytic prevalence based on culture was 110 (70.9%). The commonest species was Trichophyton rubrum (36.8%). Terbinafine was found to be the most effective drug, followed by ketoconazole and itraconazole. Conclusion Antifungal sensitivity in dermatophytic infections should be made a routine in tertiary healthcare facilities as we are already witnessing the rampage of emerging fungal infection– Mucormycosis in the nation and worldwide.
Electro-Chemical Discharge Machining (ECDM) process has shown its potential over the other thermal and chemical energy based non-conventional methods due to its better capability in micro-feature generation on nonconductive, hard and brittle materials such as glass and ceramics. In this article, a comprehensive review had been carried out on different process variants which were used to enhance the process capability of ECDM. The process variants were classified into two groups based on level of hybridization or modification in the conventional ECDM. These variants were termed as primary and secondary variants. The article consists review of various process variants such as Electro-Chemical Discharge Trepanning (ECDTr), Electro-Chemical Discharge Dressing (ECDDr), Electro-Chemical Discharge Turning (ECDT), Die Sinking Electro-Chemical Discharge Machining (DS-ECDM), Wire Electro-Chemical Discharge Machining (W-ECDM), Electro-Chemical Discharge Milling (ECDMi), Powder Mixed Electro-Chemical Discharge Machining (PM-ECDM), Rotary Electro-Chemical Discharge Machining (R-ECDM), Electro Chemical Discharge Grinding (ECDG), Magnetic Field assisted Electro-Chemical Discharge Machining (MF-ECDM) Ultrasonic assisted Electro-Chemical Discharge Machining (US-ECDM), etc. These variants were used to enhance performance of ECDM in various aspects such as material removal rate, machining depth, surface quality, aspect ratio etc. In the end a possible multi-hybridization process variant has been proposed by combining of magnetic field and ultrasonic vibration assistances in ECDM.
The stained foetal serial sections of early prenatal stage showed that the primordium of foetal goat pancreas was present in close vicinity of developing duodenum. At 69 day old goat foetus the pancreatic parenchyma was formed by tubules of different length and diameter, tubular buds, blood capillaries and islets of Langerhans. The beginning of the process of acini formation in the foetal goat pancreas was first observed from 76 days of gestation. Cells of several buds became loosely arranged and their peripheral cells began to arrange in the form of either a complete or a part of circle to form a central lumen. From 115 days onwards the cytoplasm of few acinar cells around the nucleus had a little bluish tinge and centroacinar cells were seen in few acini. From 132 days to full term foetus the pancreas was chiefly formed by developed acini, however at few places some immature acini were also found.
To study the cellular details of Pars distalis adenohypophysis of pituitary gland twelve healthy immature and mature rabbits were utilized. The pars distalis adenohypophysis comprised of cells arranged in irregular cords, grouped as acidophils, basophil and chromophobes. Type I Acidophils were usually round or oval and rarely elongated with distinct outlines its rounded nuclei were eccentrically placed. Type II acidophils were rounded, irregular polygonal and rarely elongated with densely granulated cytoplasm. The cytoplasm of Type I Basophil found densely granulated with coarse granules. Type II basophils were irregularly rounded, oval or angular with rounded nuclei and cytoplasm showed fine granules. The chromophobes were weakly stained and sparsely distributed throughout the adenohypophysis pars distalis. The size of the cells was observed that Type I acidophils were largest followed by Type II aciodophil, Type I basophil and type II basophils. Sexual and age-related variations were not noticed.

This paper proposes a hybrid approach on the basis of the Optimal Positioning and Sizing (OPAS) to enhance the dynamic stability for Unified Power Flow Controller (UPFC).Moreover, the maximum power loss bus is recognized during the optimum positioning by putting the UPFC, as the generator outage have effects on the power flow constraints namely voltage, real and reactive power flow, and loss of power.By exploiting the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) method, the optimum position is determined.According to violated power flow quantities, the Salp Swarm Algorithm (SSA) optimizes, which is necessary for UPFC quantity in order to get better initial operating circumstance.Subsequently, the proposed and conventional methods are simulated in the MATLAB platform and the performance of the proposed approach is examined by comparing conventional approaches like Genetic Algorithm (GA), PSO, and Artificial Bee Colony (ABC).Finally, the results revealed that the performance of the proposed approach is enhanced and validate it's possible to resolve the crisis.
In competitive electricity market, congestion is a serious economic and reliability concern. Congestion is a common problem that an independent system operator faces in open access electricity market. This project presents a reliable and efficient meta-heuristic based approach to solve congestion problem. The proposed approach of the present work employs Firefly algorithm (FFA) for alleviation of transmission network congestion in a pool based electricity market via active power rescheduling of generators. FFA is a new meta-heuristic approach based on flashing patterns and behaviour of fireflies. Various important security constraints such as load bus voltage and line loading have been taken into account while dealing with congestion problem. The proposed methodology may help in removing the congestion of line with minimum rescheduling cost. The numerical results of modified IEEE 30-bus test power systems are illustrated. The study was conducted on the femur of four spotted deer. The femur had an average length of 22.4cm and its cylindrical shaft was curved cranially at the middle and distal third of bone. The nutrient foramen is present on the proximal third of cranial surface. The caudal surface had a prominent lateral femoral lip and a developed supra condyloid fossa. The proximal extremity was consisted a medially placed head, greater trochanter and minor trochanter. On the caudomedial aspect of head, a shallow fovea capitis was observed. The lateral and medial condyles of distal extremity had average length and breadth of 5.1cm and 2.8cm;4.7cm and 2.0cm respectively. The summit of greater trochanter was placed in the level with the head. The length and breadth of trochlear groove was 5.2cm and 2.4cm respectively. The medial trochlear ridge was more prominent than the lateral one.
The present study was conducted on the 24 goat foeti of either sex ranging from 42 days to full term of gestation. The material was divided into early prenatal (0 to 50 days), mid prenatal (51 to 100 days) and late prenatal (101 to till term) periods. In all goat foetuses the pancreas lied in the abdominal cavity partly on right and partly on left side of median plane. Tissue processing was done with routine histological technique. Up to 59 days gestation the reticular fibers, collagen fibers and elastic fibers were absent in foetal goat pancreas. Fine reticular fibers along with fibroblasts were first observed at 69 days of gestation. From 76 days onwards reticular fibers and fibroblast were more pronounced in capsule, interlobar and interlobular areas. Moreover, these encircled the tubules, buds, acini, islets and blood vessels. Beyond this the reticular fibres gradually became coarser with the increase in age of foetus. Fine collagen fibres having a little bluish tinge were seen around vicinity of blood vessels at 115 days and distinct fine collagen fibres were observed at 118 days of gestation. No elastic fibres were observed at any stages of prenatal goat.
Harmonics is a common problem which persists in all types of system; however there is certain limit of harmonic as defined by IEEE standard. If the harmonic is below that limit then the system operation will be satisfactory. Now a day the demand of Grid connected Photovoltaic system (PV) is increasing continuously because cost of installation is reducing. The acceptable value of PV connection depends on various parameters. Unregulated utilization of Photovoltaic system can have a large impact on load characteristics and system power quality. This paper discusses the harmonic impact on power system due to large integration of PV system. The novelty of the paper is that the harmonic capability of power distribution system is analyzed for different PV system loading. For Simulation study PV Connected distribution system of Dr. C. V. Raman University, Kota is considered. ETAP Software is used to perform the simulation study. The system parameter is taken from actual site condition.
A core requirement of database engine testing is the ability to create synthetic versions of the customer's data warehouse at the vendor site. Prior work on synthetic data regeneration suffers from critical limitations with regard to (a) scaling to large data volumes, (b) handling complex query workloads, and (c) producing data on demand. In this demo, we present HYDRA, a workload-dependent dynamic data regenerator, that materially addresses these limitations. It introduces the concept of dynamic regeneration by constructing a minuscule memory-resident database summary that can on-the-fly regenerate databases of arbitrary size during query execution. Further, since the data is generated in memory, the velocity of generation can be closely regulated. Finally, to complement dynamic regeneration, Hydra also ensures that the process of summary construction is data-scale-free.
The practitioners and researchers have received considerable attention solving complex optimization problems with meta-heuristic algorithms during the past decade. Many of these algorithms are inspired by various phenomena of nature. One of the promising solutions for secure and continuous power flow in the transmission line is rescheduling-based congestion management approach, but the base problem is rescheduling cost. To solve the congestion with minimized rescheduling cost, a new population-based algorithm, the Lion Algorithm (LA), is introduced in this paper. The basic motivation for development of this optimization algorithm is based on special lifestyle of lions and their cooperation characteristics. Based on some benchmark, Lion Algorithm (LA) is compared with the existing conventional algorithms such as particle swarm optimization (PSO), genetic algorithm (GA), artificial bee colony (ABC) and firefly (FF) by analysing the convergence, cost and congestion. In IEEE 30 bus system, experimental investigation is carried out and the obtained results by the proposed algorithm Lion Algorithm (LA) in comparison with the other algorithms used in this paper.
Background CD1d restricted invariant natural killer T (iNKT) cells are important in the activation and regulation of immune responses. Limited information is available regarding the functional role of iNKT cells in the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) disease progression. Methodology α-GalCer stimulated iNKT cells were characterized for their functionality in terms of cytokine production (IFN-γ, TNF-α, IL-2, IL-4, and IL-21) and CD107a expression in HIV-1 infected [23 long-term non progressors (LTNPs), 28 progressors, 18 patients before and after suppressive anti-retroviral treatment (ART)] along with 25 HIV-1 negative subjects using multicolor flow cytometry. Results The functional profile of α-GalCer stimulated iNKT cells was similar in LTNPs and healthy controls. The number of LTNPs showing functional response in terms of secretion of cytokines (IFN-γ/IL2/TNF-α) and CD107a expression was significantly higher than seen in the progressors. The cytokine secretion by the stimulated iNKT cells was predominantly Th1 type. The frequencies of iNKT cells showing secretion of IFN-γ or IL2 or TNF-α or expression of CD107a were higher in LTNPs (p < 0.05 for all) and also significantly associated with lower plasma viral load (p value ranged from 0.04 to 0.003) and higher CD4 count (p value ranged from 0.02 to <0.0001). The functional profile of the iNKT cells before and after ART did not differ significantly indicating absence of restoration of iNKT cells functionality after suppressive ART. The IL-4 and IL-21 secreting iNKT cells were rare in all study populations. Conclusion The presence of functional iNKT cells secreting number of cytokines in non-progressive HIV infection could be one of the multiple factors required to achieve HIV control and hence have relevance in understanding the immunity in HIV infection. The failure of restoration of the iNKT functionality after ART should be potential area of future research.
