Einleitung: Die Korrektur von Lungenvenenfehleinmündungen erfolgt routinemäßig mittels Operation. Seltene Fälle von abnormalen Lungenvenen mit u.a. dualer Drainage zu den Systemvenen und zum linken Vorhof wurden beschrieben.
Objectives: T1 Mapping with and without contrast agent is a method to quantify extracellular volume (ECV) as a marker for interstitial fibrosis using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). There are only few studies in children; results are difficult to interpret due to maturation of the heart during childhood as well as technical differences of MRI hardware. This study was started in a cross sectional design investigating pediatric patients after HTx with the intention for later longitudinal follow up.
Objective: A 6-month-old patient with massively impaired left ventricular function: EF 35% (ejection fraction) LVEDD (left ventricular end diastolic diameter) 44 mm–2 SD, VTI (velocity time integral) aortal < Pc 3, Speckle-tracking (ST) longitudinal strain (GLS) 4Ch -6.5%, 2Ch -6.4%). Biopsy revealed histological diagnosis of dilative cardiomyopathy, DD chronical myocarditis. Genetic testing was performed for known cardiomyopathy encoding genes. LVAD-Berlin Heart (BH, left ventricular assist device) implantation 2 days after Admission to hospital because of clinical deterioration. A weaning plan including cardiac muscle training was performed over 14 weeks.
Objective: Outcome of Fontan patients is often complicated by impaired hemodynamics caused by increased pulmonary vascular resistance and/or ventricular stiffness. The influence of respiration and vasodilative agents on vessel flow might be of value to investigate their quality of hemodynamics. Cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) is highly accurate and can measure flow in realtime by generation of respiratory-dependent stroke volumes.
Objectives: Quick analysis of right ventricular Diameters (RVD1–3), Volumes (EDV, ESV, SV), EF, TAPSE, Fractional area change (FAC) and longitudinal Strain (LS) from one Realtime 3D-Echocardiography (RT3DE) dataset is now possible. For the use in children reference values have to be defined.
