Im Graberfeld von Bockenheim (Lkr. Bad Durkheim) wurden im Mannergrab 513 Fragmente eines aufwendig tauschierten Militargurtels der SD-Phase 3 gefunden. Dieser erganzt nicht nur die Liste der bisher seltenen fruhen Tauschierarbeiten mit individueller Verzierung der Mitte/zweiten Halfte des 5. Jahrhunderts, sondern liefert auch einen Beleg fur das fruhe Einsetzen von Reihengraberfeldern in der Pfalz bereits im letzten Drittel des 5. Jahrhunderts.

Fragments of an elaborately metal inlay military belt from phase SD 3 were found in the man's grave 513 of the cemetery at Bockenheim (Lkr. Bad DOrkheim). This does not only add to the number of hitherto rare early incrusted pieces of the middle/second half of the 5th century which show an individual decoration, but also testifies to the early beginning of row graves in the Palatinate as early as the last third of the 5th century.

A hitherto unknown type of Mediterranean finger-ring from the Pfalz/Palatinate A finger-ring unusual for the Merovingian period was found in a woman's grave in Bockenheim, Palatinate. Judging from the prong setting (claw setting) of the inlay lost today, it was a Mediterranean product but direct parallels remain unknown. M. S.
