[Purpose] In order to reducing the toxicity of general cationic surfactants, biodegradable ester cationic surfactants have been developed as novel kinds of environmental products in the world. [Method] Hyperactive etherifying agent of glycidyltriethyl ammonium chloride is very important intermediate product to synthesis biodegradable ester cationic surfactants. In this paper, a kind of hyperactive etherifying agent of glycidyltriethylammonium chloride was synthesized by traditional method with epichlorohydrin and trimethylamine as raw materials. [Results] During the synthesis, the best reaction conditions have been obtained, that the reaction temperature is 25 o C, the reaction time is 3 h, the reaction solvent is acetone, and the best mol ratio of epichlorohydrin to timethylamine is 3:1. [Conclusions] In addition, the chemical structure of the product has been confirmed by FT-IR, it is conformed with glycidyltriethylammonium chloride completely.
Starch microsphere is artificial starch derivative, can be synthesized by cross-linking reaction from crude starch and modified starch. In this study, a new type of crosslinked starch microspheres with degradability was prepared by crosslinking reaction of soluble starch with N, N'-methylenebisacrylamide (MBAA) in inverse suspension using K2S2O8-Na2SO3 as initiator. The microsphere size and size distribution of the starch microsphere were determined, and the structures were studied by SEM and FT-IR. And then, the starch microsphere was expected to been used in nasal drug delivery system, artery embolization, radiotherapy, immunoassay and so on.
The quaternary ammonium salt cationic surfactant with long-chain alkyl and epoxy groups is very important intermediate product to synthesis novel functional surfactants. In this paper, a kind of quaternary ammonium salt cationic surfactant with long-chain alkyl and epoxy groups was synthesized by traditional method with epichlorohydrin and N-octadecyldimethylamine as raw materials. During the synthesis, the best reaction conditions have been obtained, that the reaction temperature is 35 degrees C, the reaction time is 4 h and the best mol ratio of epichlorohydrin to timethylamine is 5:1. In addition, the synthesized intermediate with long-chain alkyl and epoxy groups plays a very important roles in the development of cationic surfactant.
In order to solve the problem of that traditional bone glue adhesives were solid in room, a new technology of bone glue modifying was introduced. Epichlorohydrin was used as grafting agent, and then the modified bone glue was crosslinked with each other to obtain the novel bone glue adhesive. The effect factors such as the ratio of water and bone glue, the amount of sodium hydroxide, the time of reaction were studied to develop the modifying technics which was different to the traditional way.
In order to research the removal effect of potassium ferrate to COD in the different wasterwater, the papermaking wastewater and the tanning wastewater were used as research objects. This paper was focused on evaluating the effectiveness of potassium ferrate preoxidation on COD removal by coagulation in different wastewater of papermaking and tanning. Potassium ferrate is a strong oxidant in the entire pH range: its redox potentials are 2.20 and 0.72 V in acidic and basic media, respectively ferrate (VI) ions will be reduced to Fe (III) ions or ferric hydroxide during the oxidation process, potassium ferrate has also the ability to act as coagulant. The removal efficiency was 78.21% to the papermaking wastewater and 85.51% to the tanning wastewater, respectively, when the dosage concentration of potassium ferrate was 20 mg/L. Altogether, potassium ferrate is a perfect sewage treatment agent to papermaking wastewater and tanning wastewater.
In order to obtain some novel cationic surfactants with high surface activity, n-octadecyldimethylamine and epichlorohydrin were used to synthesize 2-hydroxy-1, 3-dis (chloride octadecyl dimethyl ammonium) propane, which was a kind of gemini quaternary ammonium salt. N-octadecyldimethylamine and epichlorohydrin were used to prepare active epoxy intermediate glycidyloctadecyldimethyl ammonium chlorided, and then glycidyloctadecyldimethyl ammonium chlorided was reacted with octadecyldimethyl amine hydrochloride to synthesize the gemini cationic surfactant. FTIR and 1 H NMR were used to represent structure of the gemini cationic surfactant. The interface characteristics were studied in detail. The critical micellar concentration (CMC) was determined by surface tension test to obtain the values of CMC and surface tension at CMC. The foam ability and foam stability of the gemini cationic surfactant were also discussed through contrast octadecyltrimethyl ammonium chloride and cetyltrimethyl ammonium chloride.
In order to resolve the pollution of coloured wastewater, starch microsphere was used to absorb methylene blue from aqueous solutions in this paper. Starch microsphere is artificial starch derivative, can be synthesized by cross-linking reaction from crude starch and modified starch. The cross-linked starch microsphere was prepared from soluble starch and N, N'-methylenebisacrylamide, and starch microsphere has characteres of irregular appearance, uniform size, suitable swelling, three-dimensional network structure, suitable shell pore diameter and specific surface area, good mechanical intensity. The microporous structure of starch microsphere was determined using Scanning Electronic Microscopy (SEM). The adsorption capacity of starch microsphere to methylene blue was studied. It could be shown that the adsorption capacity increases with the increase of concentration of methylene blue. Also, the lower the temperature was, the bigger the adsorption capacity of SM was in the same concentration. So, starch microsphere could effectively absorb methylene blue from aqueous solutions and thus the influencing factors of the adsorption were discussed in detail.
In order to purify the wastewater polluted by phenol, the research of the thermodynamics of phenol adsorption on the adsorbent was very important. In this paper, a type of crosslinking starch microsphere (SM) has been synthesized by reversed phrase suspension method with soluble starch as raw material and N, N’-methylenebisacrylamide as crosslinking agent. And then the adsorption thermodynamics of SM toward phenol had been studied, and the adsorption capacity increased with the increasing of concentration of phenol solution, lower temperature ccould accelerate adsorption. The research results showed that the adsorption process was exothermic, could proceed spontaneously, and the adsorption driving force came from the enthalpy change mainly. The thermodynamic parameters of adsorption process showed that the adsorption behavior of SM towards phenol belongs to physical adsorption.
