I graduated from Yerevan State University (YSU) and was qualified as philologist and professor of the Russian language and literature, as well as completed the doctoral course in General Linguistics at Yerevan State Pedagogical Institute of Russian and Foreign Languages, now called Brusov State University (BSU). I received a PhD degree (Doctor of Philology in Slavic Languages) from YSU and an academic rank of Associate Professor (docent).
From 2014 to 2015, I took a course of teachers’ professional development, organized by Ayb Educational Foundation and University College London, as part of the National Program of Excellence for Education (NPEE) and was qualified as an NPEE expert-trainer.
From 1981 to 2010, I taught courses of Russian as a foreign language and Russian for special purposes at the humanitarian faculties of YSU, as well as several theoretical courses at the YSU Faculty of Russian Philology.
From 2008 to 2014, I was the Dean of the Russian and Foreign Languages Faculty and an Associate Professor of the Department of Russian and Slavic Linguistics. I taught courses of morphology, word formation, the lexicon and semantics of Modern Russian, as well as comparative grammar and sociolinguistics.
From 2017 to 2018, I worked as a senior specialist and an expert-trainer of the Araratian Baccalaureate (AB) at the Teachers’ Professional Development and Certification Department of the NPEE.
Since September 2011, I have worked at Ayb School as a teacher of the Russian language and literature. From 2014 to 2016, I held the positions of Ayb School Vice-Principal and of program coordinator at Ayb Middle School, and since 2018, I have been the subject group leader and have coordinated the process of teaching Russian and other foreign languages, except English, at Ayb School.
Since 2020, I have been working part-time at the Department of the Russian Language and Its Teaching Methodology, K.Abovyan Yerevan State Pedagogical University.
In July-August 2021, I participated in the STEM training program of teachers in the Tavush region of Armenia--a pilot program financed by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports and the World Bank within the framework of the "European Union for Innovation" initiative and aimed at adopting the new state education standards at educational institutions--in the capacity of an expert-trainer.
I have authored around 70 scientific publications and publications on teaching methods, including 3 educational guidebooks. I also advise doctoral students.
