Analytical methods for measuring volatile organic compounds were reviewed. Two commercially available instruments were selected and evaluated in the laboratory; one was judged unacceptable. The other analyzer was evaluated during a limited field test; results were satisfactory and averaged 3% higher than results produced by a concurrently operated gas chromatograph system.
