.Wrestling is one of the most physically demanding sports among high school and college athletics. As expected in a physical contact sport, the athletes are prone to occasional injury. The common injuries sustained in wrestling relate to musculoskeletal strength, flexibility, and skill level. It is really important to find ways to prevent many of those injuries. To properly design an injury prevention program, one should take into account parameters such as injury characteristics, the mechanism of injury, and information about the sport's physical demands. Taking these parameters into account, an injury prevention program called Wrestling + was designed. The key elements of Wrestling + are core strength, shoulder and leg strength, and balance. Wrestling + has 3 parts and 14 exercises. A key point in the program is to use proper technique during all of the exercises. Part 1 includes running exercises at a slow speed combined with active shoulder stretching, grips, and bridge positions; Part 2 includes 5 sets of exercises focusing on core, shoulder and leg strength, and balance, each with three levels of increasing difficulty; and Part 3 includes wrestling simulation exercises.
Competition rules and their changes have a significant impact on training and competition strategies. Urgently necessary rule changes has been made by FILA with other changes during international competitions in May 2013. As a result of the application of the new rules can be stated that the introduction of the new rules werecrowned principle of success: The new rules lead in all three disciplines in a significant increase in victories with technical superiority (ST, SP) at the expense of point victories. You caused an improvement of the performance index and the effectiveness of attack, which is reflected in the increase in activity and an enormous improvement in the attack oriented combat behavior. The number of realized technical points per bout increased in all three disciplines of the rule changes. The formal appreciation of 2-point ratings lead to a reduction of the 1-point ratings but not to increase the 3 - and 5 - point votes values or to an increase of the pins what cannot be seen as an increase of attractiveness. This is also the occasion for further reflection and for an extensive evaluation of the Senior World Championships in Budapest.
CURRENT TENDENCIES IN COMBAT BEHAVIOUR OF THE SENIOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS This analysis is to start with thanks to the organisers of the championships having performed a superb feat of world champion level. In Moscow we have had an enormous increase of media interests and the presence of various TV companies assisted FILA‟s efforts towards promotion wrestling in the world. Again we have had a new record of participants and this is an evidence for more attractiveness of the Olympic wrestling. Moscow was an example for the upwards trend of the Olympic Freestyle wrestling. The technical-tactical upward trend is obvious in a consequent fighting and effective and attractive technical-tactical actions. Even the president of the IOC, Jacques Rogge, while attending the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore, has been impressed by the excellent technical and tactical performance of the young freestylers from different countries.
