Decision making of worker for appropriate task selection based on workflow is often changed by occurring interruption. Concerned workers of interrupted workflow must optimize workflow to improve consumed time of current tasks by changing engagement of assigned tasks. Although work efficiency is improved by supporting experienced worker for inexperienced worker, time for nurture of inexperienced worker is decreased. In order to minimize the payoff of expected profit for forthcoming work, appropriate task selection of the worker in interruption must approximate to weight of common criteria by pre-task assignment as an ideal task selection through the superior decision maker. Proposed approach in this paper improves the achievement changed of tasks in certain interruption by applying meta-heuristic approach according to subjective attributes of worker.
Opportunity of decision making for improving work efficiency is often occurred in work environment. Although typically appropriate task assignment for improving work efficiency is tended to solve as optimization problem, general optimization approach improves task assignment based on quantitative profits for improving work efficiency such as reducing labor cost or shortening operating time. However, actual superior decision maker who is manager expects nurture of worker for improving work efficiency of forthcoming work as qualitative profit by assigning task to inexperienced worker. Therefore, decision making for appropriate task selection by worker should include qualitative profit as criteria. In order to provide appropriate alternative in decision making for improving work efficiency, this paper proposes aggregation of criteria for quantitative profit and qualitative profit by reducing uncertainty of context of worker's situation.
Interruption is occurred by partial participation of workflows with adding new activity to a worker.A concerned worker to the interrupted workflow must restructure task assignment to improve consumed operating time by interruption.An opportunity of decision making is occurred to the workers to select appropriate tasks.However, preassignment of tasks to workers includes an expectation of superior decision maker to a training of an inexperienced worker.In order to avoid overmuch improvement to the interrupted workflow, the alternatives for shortening operating time of tasks is computed by TOPSIS method.Although positive ideal solution and negative ideal solution in conventional TOPSIS method are based on objective attributes, subjective completion time of pre-assigned tasks that are positive ideal solution in this model is depending on subjective attributes of the worker.Therefore, this research proposes a novel extension of positive and negative ideal solution of TOPSIS method by aggregating based on subjective fuzzy attributes of the worker and objective attributes of tasks.The approach is examined on simple case study showing that the work is promising on providing solution to handle interruption on carried work in runtime.

The proposed system assists the worker's decision to improve the work efficiency by recommending the alternatives based on expert knowledge for the interruption context. The context of the interruption is reasoned according to the worker's profile. The generated task by interruption is related to each worker's historical experience. The proposed system recommends appropriate next action to the worker by computing the effect of the alternatives through the reasoning of interruption context.

The evaluated interruption invokes positive or negative effect according to the context of the tasks. In this paper we discuss the attributes of the tasks interruption, to provide an assistance in resuming or sustaining (i.e., interrupted) task work from interruption by the system to achieve suistabanle workflow and possible optimization.
An approach was previously proposed for assisting users on selecting the displayed multiple objects on their screen. This approach is related to have a useful GUI by dynamic configurable visualization of overlapping displayed objects provide by the user for executing a certain task. Our proposed GUI is associated with metaphor of finding a book of related task from the piled up books of similar tasks with different precision. We considered for improving the assist of user's finding about issues of restarting interrupted work. This paper describes the proposed idea for resolving issues by modifying indication of the user's behavior information on this GUI and by applirng the color gradation to the twenty four hour scale.
Knowledge management system (KMS) should handle efficiently a large information that is in most cases is related to user experiences and related situation that can affecting the performance of these KMS. User usually is keen to looking for the knowledge that fits best in his situation and domain work that instantaneously is changing due to handling situation. This outline presented in this paper facilitates the necessary detection of knowledge discovery that fit in the current problem solving, by estimating the user situation model along with user profile as a coherent model that reflects on the knowledge base in transparent manner. This would participate in determination of the best fitness of work flow that represents a semantic alignment between user profile and knowledge as pair-wise representation for optimized workflow that can participate to reflect a better performance in relation to semantic integration of user model and related knowledge. In order to distinguish the purpose and subject of all displayed objects, we have proposed a layer ordering and related parametric variables assigned to these objects, aligned with user's action. The framework proposal is presented in horizontal framework metaphor that is all objects collected and participating in user transaction are seen by the user in horizontal manner, as things layout on a table in flattening fashion, (not overlapped or hidden). We think that such approach can enhance and accelerate the user workflow in comparison to conventional style.
There is a popular function that can display the target object to full screen in using computer. This function has a feature that many contents on last active object are hidden by the other object when the user switches the active object to the other object. Therefore, the resource for thinking is consumed by keeping the memory of the hidden information. In this paper, we propose three ideas for keeping the display of contents on active object below. One is an idea that is keeping the desired object to front side of the screen. The other idea is to list files while displaying the active object. And to set automatically the size and position of object to the frequently used size and position file by file. In addition this paper describes how to apply the above ideas to the control-icon that can easily handle multiple objects and was proposed by the authors' previously.
This paper discusses possible assisting approaches with that the search engine indicates additional keywords for searching the desired documents after the first keyword is specified by the user. Effectiveness of a new idea to utilize a frequency distribution of terminologies used in all the database documents was evaluated, showing a promising indication that the approach is useful for suggesting good candidate terminologies for secondary keywords. The paper indicates necessary steps towards building of a more efficient search engine including establishment of a solid mathematical or statistical foundation for determining a group of meaningful terminologies from any arbitrary database, and combination with other approaches for augmenting searching performance.
A new concept of the computer icon is presented, whose roles are expanded to have all control functions for the object window from the very limited original roles to show merely the existence and the kind of the object. The “control” icon uses the push-pin icon that consists of a push-pin image and its shadow as proposed by the authors' previously [6,7]. The main subject of this paper is how to apply the new “control” icon concept to the MS Windows environment. The paper describes that the control icon realized as an add-on software program on the MS Windows can control any existing application programs without requiring modifications. Also, a new intuitive method for resizing the displayed object window with a free aspect ratio is presented.
This paper describes a unique collaborative system based on a knowledge database. First its functional mechanisms, typical usages by users and the merits observed over long-term internal testing are described in detail. Then, the issues to overcome barriers for handling massive and growing Volumes of data are discussed, and a novel and promising data handling method that can be used in place of conventional DBMS is presented. Performance evaluations in an actual environment using the proposed method demonstrated drastic improvements.
A novel Push-Pin icon is introduced as an intuitive graphical user interface (GUI) in associations from free layouts of printed paper sheets on a pin-up board. It is shown that necessary commands for GUI implementation can be represented by Push-Pin states. Detailed state transition diagrams for actual GUI implementation based on this icon are given. Superiority of the new GUI method to the conventional one was demonstrated in a typical application. It is firmly believed that use of the proposed method will significantly improve work efficiency of computer users.
