Vermont State Parks samples our managed swimming areas at parks that are open for the season. Samples are taken weekly and analyzed at certified labs and results are returned after about 24 hours. We are testing for e‐coli which is an bacteria. It is called an indicator because it's presence could reflect the possible presence of sickness causing organisms. Results are a calculated count of e‐coli bacteria per 100 milliliter sample.
