This paper aims to formulate the use of learning guid-ance scheme in modern teaching to implement the course educa-tion and guidance for students, make clear the content and re-quirement of having a class, and guide students' pre-class preparation, cultivate a good learning atmosphere, so as to funda-mentally motivate students' enthusiasm in learning. In teaching, the cultivation of students' autonomous learning and the develop-ment of students' cooperation spirit are attached more importance to, in order to make students the master of class.

This article analyzes the present situation of current English teaching in vocational colleges and puts forward covertly stratified teaching mode.The necessity and possibility are also analyzed.The subjects of this study are all from Nanchang Teachers College.The results show after one year's study about covertly stratified teaching mode,the quality of English teaching has been improved.
