To evaluate the nutrient and weed management practices on performance of onion, a field experiment was carried out during rabi 2017-18 and 2018-19 at the experimental plot of RRTTS, OUAT, Keonjhar, Odisha taking fifteen treatments in a split plot design. Among all the treatments, the maximum plant height was recorded in N3W4 (56.29 cm) which was closely followed by N3W3 (55.97 cm), number of leaves plant -1 was higher in N3W3 (12.47) significantly which was closely followed by N2W4 (12.33) and N2W3 (12.00) and maximum neck thickness was recorded in N1W2 (1.39cm). Among yield parameters, the average bulb weight of onion ranges from 33.56 g (N1W2) to 87.6 g (N2W3) while, the highest bulb yields of onion (17.37 and 20.40 t ha-1) was recorded for the treatment which to be exact was applied with pre-emergence application of pendimethalin @ 0.8 l ha-1 supplement with one hand weeding at 25 DAT with B:C ratio of 1.84 and 1.76 for the year 2017-18 and 2018-19 respectively. Similarly, the treatment combination of N2W3 i.e. application of 50% STBFR along with 50% FYM based on N requirement and pre-emergence application of pendimethalin @ 0.8 l ha-1 + one hand weeding at 25 DAT) was recorded the highest. The available nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus, potash and sulphur content (284.67 kg ha-1, 14.83 kg ha-1 , 97.43 kg ha-1 & 11.40 kg ha-1) in the post harvest soil was recorded highest with the treatment N2W3.
Improvements in cancer care have led to an exponential increase in cancer survival. This is particularly the case for breast cancer, where 5-year survival in Australia exceeds 90%. Cardiovascular disease (CVD) has emerged as one of the competing causes of morbidity and mortality among cancer survivors, both as a complication of cancer therapies and because the risk factors for cancer are shared with those for CVD. In this review we cover the key aspects of cardiovascular care for women throughout their cancer journey: the need for baseline cardiovascular risk assessment and management, a crucial component of the cardiovascular care; the importance of long-term surveillance for ongoing maintenance of cardiovascular health; and strong evidence for the beneficial effects of physical exercise to improve both cancer and cardiovascular outcomes. There is general disparity in cardiovascular outcomes for women, which is further exacerbated when both CVD and cancer co-exist. Collaboration between oncology and cardiac services, with an emergence of the whole field of cardio-oncology, allows for expedited investigation and treatment for these patients. This collaboration as well as a holistic approach to patient care and key role of patients' general practitioners are essential to ensure long-term health of people living with, during and beyond cancer.
Mechanisms which contribute to cognitive dysfunction in patients with congenital heart disease (CHD) are poorly understood, noting previous imaging studies have demonstrated abnormal cerebral structure and function. Novel biomarkers assessing endothelial function and blood brain barrier integrity may be abnormal and potentially associated with these described abnormalities.
Colo rectal cancer is the third most common cancer in the world. Clinical data on localized colon cancer and treatment outcome is scarce in the literature. This is a real-world study of the clinical profile and treatment patterns and outcomes of patients with nonmetastatic colon cancer from India. Here we report our experience in this patient population.

The aim of this study was to describe the association between acute and chronic respiratory disease and stress cardiomyopathy in an Australian cohort.
A field experiment on "Planting pattern and nutrient management in rainfed sweet corn + cowpea system" was conducted during the kharif 2019-20 and 2020-21 at Regional Research and Technology Transfer Station, Keonjhar, Odisha. The experiment was laid down in Split plot design with three replications. The experiment was conducted to identify the suitable planting pattern and effect of nutrient management practices for enhancing production potentials of Sweet corn+ Cowpea. The treatments taken in this experiment consists of planting pattern with 3 levels i.e P1 : Sweet corn +Cowpea (1:1) in alternate rows, P2 : Sweet corn +Cowpea (2:2) in alternate paired rows and P3 : Sweet corn +Cowpea (1:1) in the same row and nutrient management practices with seven levels i.e. F1- STBFR to Sweet Corn , F2- Proportionate of STBFR of (Sweet Corn + Cowpea) based on population, F3- STBFR to Sweet Corn + Consortia biofertilizer , F4- 75% STBFR to Sweet Corn + STBFR to Cowpea based on population, F5- 50% STBFR of Sweet Corn + STBFR to Cowpea based on population, F6- 75% STBFR of Sweet Corn + STBFR to Cowpea based on population + Consortia biofertilizer, F7- 50% STBFR of Sweet Corn + STBFR to Cowpea based on population + Consortia biofertilizer. Sweet corn variety 'Sugar 75' and Cowpea variety 'Kashi kanchan' were used as test crops. Observations on yield and yield parameters were recorded before and at harvest. The yield and yield parameters measured in the form of cobs per plant, cob length with husk, cob girth with husk , no of seed rows per cob, cob weight, green cob yield, fresh kernel yield, green fodder yield and harvest index in case of sweet corn and pods per plant, pod length, weight of pod, weight of green pod per plant, fresh pod yield, dry pod yield and dry haulm yield in case of cowpea were recorded. Planting of sweet corn + cowpea (2:2) in alternate paired rows(P2) with application of 75% STBFR of Sweet Corn + STBFR to Cowpea based on population + Consortia bio fertilizer to the maize + cowpea crop (F6) followed by STBFR of sweet corn and cowpea (F2) was superior in terms of both yield and yield parameters.

Before the harvest of the crop the observations on growth parameters were recorded. Height of the plant was taken at harvest and the number of leaves per plant were taken at an interval of , 45 and 60 days after sowing and number of primary and secondary branches per plant was recorded. After harvesting, yield attributes and yield (number of siliqua per plant, number of grains per siliqua, 1000 seed weight (gm), grain yield (t/ha), stover yield (t/ha), and harvest index (%)) were recorded. Planting of sweet corn + cowpea (2:2) in alternate paired rows(P2) with application of 75% STBFR of Sweet Corn + STBFR to Cowpea based on population + Consortia bio fertilizer to the preceeding maize + cowpea crop (F6) followed by STBFR of sweet corn and cowpea (F2) was suprior in terms of both yield and yield parameters.
Physiological assessment of coronary artery stenoses using fractional flow reserve (FFR) or instantaneous free wave pressure ratio (iFR) determines the functional significance of coronary stenoses to guide treatment. We aimed to describe the changing patterns and implications of use of these technologies.
Aim: To identify the proper variety and suitable date of planting of potato for North Central Plateau Zone (NCPZ) of Odisha. Study Design: The experiment was laid in a Factorial Randomized Block Design (FRBD) with three replications. Place and Duration of Study: The field experiment was carried out at Field Experimental Block, Regional research and Technology Transfer Station (RRTTS), Keonjhar, Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology, Odisha. The investigation was conducted during rabi-2015-16 and rabi-2016-17. Methodology: There were four high yielding potato genotypes used as sub-factor for the study such as V1: Kufri Jyoti, V2: Kufri Surya, V3: Kufri Ashoka and V4: Kufri Pukhraj. The materials were planted in three different dates (D1: 15th November, D2: 25th November and D3: 5th December) as main-factor to identify the superior variety with suitable dates of planting. Results: The results of pooled analysis of variance (ANOVA) shown that the genotypes had significant differences for the dates of planting on yield. Higher tuber yield was recorded in the variety Kufri Pukhraj in both rabi-2015-16 (28.37 t ha-1) and rabi-2016-17 (35.53 t ha-1) along with higher mean yield (31.95 t ha-1). All the varieties have higher yield when planted on D1 (15th November) as compared to the other two date of planting. Conclusion: The varietal and environmental variations as well as their interaction had a considerable influence on yield and its attributes. In this investigation, Kufri Pukhraj was identified as higher yielder and 15th November was found best suitable planting date for north central plateau zone of Odisha, as this date given higher yield as compared to the other two dated of plating. Therefore, if a specific window of date of planting can be ascertained to the farmers of this region then it would help to cultivate potato exactly when the climatic conditions are favorable for its growth and ultimately to get a high crop yield.
Background Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is the most common malignancy, representing up to 80% to 90% of all malignant neoplasms of the oral cavity. The role of microbes in association with the host is known to promote cancer progression, which is considered a prominent risk factor for oral OSCC. In view of a recent systematic review on microbial involvement, a proficient conclusion was derived associating microbes in OSCC progression. Objective Identification of most relevant microbial species associated in OSCC progression using statistical meta-analysis. Methods A preliminary search was primed through different literature databases including PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane for a systematic review by using different MeSH terminologies for microbial association with OSCC progression. A meta-analysis was done to identify statistically significant bacterial species. Results Results of this analysis presented the forest plots with statistically evaluated odds ratios and confidence intervals for each considered bacterial concentration. According to the results, no single or clustered microbial entity evaluated could confirm its significant association with OSCC progression. This could be because of a lack of qualitative and quantitative data and needs extensive evaluation using throughput research techniques. Conclusions The observations of the bacterial risk factors of OSCC through meta-analysis have been concluded with the identification of statistically insignificant association of microbes with OSCC progression. But, among those possibly consistent species, Prevotella melaninogenica might play a sensitive role in propagating OSCC progression. Statin related adverse events reduce medication adherence; however, in randomised, double-blind placebo-controlled trials the rates of many commonly reported adverse events are equal in both arms, suggesting they may be a result of the nocebo effect. Overestimating these side effects in prescribing information may prime patients to experience them. We aimed to compare side effects in Australian prescribing texts with rates in blinded placebo control trials.
A field experiment was conducted to find out appropriate nutrient and weed management practices for yield maximization and nutrient uptake of onion during rabi 2018-19 at the experimental plot of Regional Research and Technology Transfer Station, Keonjhar of Odisha. The experiment was laid out in Split plot technique with fifteen treatments viz., Main plot belongs to Nutrient management (N) with treatments i.e. N1- Soil test based fertilizer recommendation (STBFR), N2 - 50% STBFR + FYM (Based on N requirement), N3-STBFR + Sulphur), while Subplots belongs to weed management (W) with treatments viz., W1- Pendimethalin (PE) @ 0.8 Lha-1, W2- Oxyflurofen (PE) @ 0.2 Lha-1, W3-Pendimethalin (PE) @ 0.8 Lha-1+ one hand weeding at 25 days after transplanting(DAT), W4-Oxyflurofen (PE) @ 0.2 Lha-1+ one hand weeding at 25 days after transplanting(DAT), W5- one hand weeding at 25 days after transplanting (DAT). The highest onion bulb yield of 16.72 t ha-1 was obtainedunder the treatment applied with Pendimethalin (PE) @ 0.8 Lha-1 along with one hand weeding at 25 DAT, followed by Oxyfluorfen 0.2Lha-1 pre-emergence + 1 hand weeding at 25 DAT (15. 88 t ha-1). The treatment combination of N2W3 (96.83, 16.80, 57.73 kg ha-1) was recorded the highest N, P, and Kuptake by crops respectively while N3W3 (51.39 kg ha-1 ) was recorded as the highest S uptake by a crop over the rest of the treatments.
An experiment was conducted during kharif season in 2017. It was designed in randomized block design with three replications and 18 genotypes of potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) to identify the most suitable potato variety for Keonjhar agro-climatic condition during kharif season under rainfed conditions. Potato genotypes were evaluated for different growth parameters, yield attributes and yield characters. Among the vartieties tested, maximum number of tubers/ plant were recorded in variety Phulbani Local (32.0) which was statistically superior to rest other varieties. Phulbani Local recorded maximum tuber yield of 17.6 t/ha with B:C ratio of 2.2, which was statistically superior to all other varieties. Among big sized potato varieties, Kurfi Sinduri (13.90 t/ha, 1.7) and Kufri Surya (13.0 t/ha, 1.6) produced higher yield per hectare and B:C ratio respectively. However, the variety 2000P-55 (4.6 t/ha) resulted the lowest yield per ha which was at par with Kufri Himsona (4.9 t/ha) and Kufri Sailaja (5.3 t/ha) with negative B:C ratio. So, Variety Phulbani Local, Kufri Sinduri and Kufri Surya can be cultivated successfully during kharif season in Keonjhar Agro-climatic condition.
A field experiment was carried out during rabi season of three consecutive years of 2017-18, 2018-19 and 2019-20 at Field Experimental Block, RRTTS, Keonjhar, Odisha to study the effect of heat and thermal unit use of chickpea cultivars under various dates of sowing. The experiment was laid out in a Split plot Design with twelve treatments combinations, four dates of sowing (1st November, 15th November, 30th November and 15th December) kept in main plots, and three varieties of chickpea (JAKI - 9218, JG-14, JG-16) in sub plots with three replications. The results of the experiments revealed that chickpea sown on 15th November registered the maximum mean grain yield of 1040 kg/ha, fetched maximum mean net return of Rs. 26895/- per ha with B:C of 1.89. Growing chickpea variety JAKI 9218 fetched maximum mean net return of Rs. 27850/- per ha with B:C of 1.67. The maximum GDD to reach maturity (2316.3 days) and heliothermal unit was recorded on 1st November while minimum GDD of 1860.5 days was observed on 15th December. Among cultivars, JAKI 9218 had higher thermal unit requirement. Photothermal unit from date of emergence to maturity stage accounted higher with 1st November sowing, while lowest PTU were observed with the crop sown on 15th December during both all the years. Variety JAKI 9218 accounted non-significantly higher PTU than JG14 and JG 16 at all the phenological stages of the crop during all the years.
Spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD) and Takotsubo syndrome (TTS) are well-described non-atherosclerotic causes of myocardial infarction (MI). We describe a rare case of the two pathological processes occurring at the same time. A 56-year-old female presented with central chest pain to a regional hospital following an emotional quarrel. Initial ECG suggested inferior ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). She received intravenous thrombolysis and was transferred to a PCI capable hospital. The patient had no significant past medical history and was on no regular medications. There were no traditional risk factors for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. High sensitivity Troponin-I (Hs-TnI) was 8 ng/L on arrival, rising to 106,876ng/L 6 hours later. She developed 3:1 Mobitz II heart block. Coronary angiography 7 hours after presentation revealed SCAD in the obtuse marginal branch of the left circumflex artery and left ventriculogram was consistent with typical TTS with mid to apical left ventricular akinesia and hyper dynamic basal left ventricular systolic function. The patient was medically managed without PCI and recovered well. Simultaneous occurrence of SCAD and TTS may be under recognised. There are fourteen published case reports of simultaneous SCAD and TTS. Only 2/14 cases describe SCAD not in the left anterior descending (LAD) artery or one of its branches, as in this case. Both disorders tend to have a similar clinical presentation, predilection to the female gender, and association with emotional stressors. SCAD and TTS can mimic MI. This is a rare case of both conditions occurring simultaneously. Reports of this may be underestimated due to similar clinical features and further diagnostic testing avoided once the first diagnosis is made.
An experiment was conducted at Field Experimental Block, Regional Research and Technology Transfer Station, Keonjhar, during Kharif season for two consecutive years of 2017 and 2018 under RKVY project to study the performance of maize based intercropping system under North Central Plateau Zone of Odisha. . The experiment was laid out in RBD design. The experiment comprised of thirteen treatments viz. T1Maize + Cowpea (1:1), T2-Maize + Cowpea (2:2), T3-Maize + Radish (1:1), T4-Maize + Radish (2:2), T5-Maize + Cluster bean (1:1), T6-Maize + Cluster bean (2:2), T7-Maize + Arhar (1:1), T8-Maize + Arhar (2:2),T9-Maize (sole), T10-Cowpea (sole) , T11-Radish (sole), T12Cluster bean (sole), T13-Arhar (sole). The varieties taken were: Maize-Pioneer 3396(Hybrid), Cowpea-Kasi Kanchan, Cluster bean -Pusa Navbahar, ArharCorg 9701 and RadishPusa Chetki Long. Results revealed that Maize + cowpea (1:1) proved to be the most profitable system being at par with maize + cowpea (2:2) & maize + radish (1:1 & 2:2) systems in both the years. However, maize + arhar (1:1) returned the highest amount per rupee invested (1.78) among all the systems when number of days occupied in the field is not taken into account. Therefore for North Central Plateau Zone of Odisha cowpea and radish are the most suitable intercrops with maize in Kharif season in the above row ratios.
A field experiment was conducted during kharif season (June to September) of 2013 and 2014 at research farm of Regional Research and Technology Transfer Sub-station, Kirei, Sundergarh, Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology of Odisha, India which is located in the geographic parallels of 220 4’ N and 840 2’ E. The objective of the experiment is to find out the most efficient and economic combination of different organic and inorganic sources of nutrients to increase the growth, productivity and economics of hybrid maize without deteriorating the soil qualities. The experiment comprised of eight treatments, namely 100% Recommended dose of N, P2O5 and K2O, 75% Recommended dose of fertilizer (RDF) nitrogen+25% N through vermicompost, 75% RDF nitrogen+25% N through mustard oil cake, 75% RDF nitrogen+25% N through Farmyard manure, 50% RDF nitrogen+50% N through vermicompost, 50% RDF nitrogen+50% N through mustard oil cake, 50% RDF nitrogen+50% N through Farmyard manure, Control (no manure no nitrogen). Integrated application of 75% Recommended DFN+25% N through vermicompost resulted significantly highest plant height (220.8 cm) at harvest, highest leaf area index (5.15) at 60 days after sowing, dry matter accumulation at harvest (1745 g m-2), number of grains cob-1 (466.49), Grain weight cob-1 (102.67), test weight (220.30 g 1000 grain-1), length of cob (24.25 cm), girth of cob (18.01 cm), number of cobs plant-1 (1.07), maize grain yield of 6.79 t ha-1, Stover yield (10.95 t ha-1 ), harvest index (0.39), gross return (` 88,318 ha-1), net return (` 52,099 ha-1), return rupee-1 invested (` 2.44).
Sweet potato (Ipomea batatas L.) is one of the most important tuber crops of tropical and sub-tropical countries which belong to the family Convolvulaceae. The present study was conducted to assess the appropriate planting time and suitable variety of sweet potato for Keonjhar district of Odisha. Four sweet potato varieties (Kishan, ST-13, ST-14 and Local Check) were planted in three different dates (20 July, 30 July and 9 August) in factorial randomized block design with three replications. Among the varieties, 'Kishan' produced the highest yield of (41.92 t ha-1) with B:C ratio of 3.0. Among three dates of plantings, sweet potato planted on 9 Aug shown the highest yield (31.93 t ha-1) which was at par with 20 July, planting (29.89 t ha-1). However, Kishan variety planted on 20 July registered the highest yield (57.03 t ha-1) with B:C ratio of 4.1.It was also noticed that sweet potato varieties ST-13, ST-14 and Local Check responded better to delayed planting whereas variety Kishan responded well to early date of planting i.e. 20 July.
