AbstractThe existence of a compound of composition 4CaO,3A12O3, SO3 is confirmed and the structure, which has body‐centred cubic symmetry, is deduced to be of the ‘ultramarine’ type. The high‐temperature stability of the compound is discussed, together with its potential applications in an expanding cement.
