The issue of efficient use of corporate resources is more than topical in the time of accelerated digitization. The main goal of the study is to create a reference empirical base for broader research on accelerated digitization. Based on the current state of knowledge, the research problem is identified at the level of fact-finding, with a focus on the willingness of companies to invest in self-promotion. The research group included more than 2000 companies operating predominantly on the Central European market. The research sample consists of 102 entities that provided active feedback for the empirical analysis. There are several methods used to solve the research problem including the scientific (analysis and synthesis), mathematical and statistical methods (mainly Contingency tables, Pearson’s chi-square test, the Contingency coefficient and the Cramer coefficient V). The statistical analysis of the data did not confirm that the company size has a significant effect on the percentage share of the turnover that the enterprises are willing to invest in self-promotion. In the context of the market transformation, it will thus be necessary to find out how entities deal with the need for specialization in the digitalization of B2C interactions to maintain their competitiveness. The study thus creates a reference empirical base for broader research on accelerated digitization in the management of enterprises, especially applicable to enterprises operating in catch-up markets.
Purpose-This study serves as the initial phase of a broader research project. Its aim is to examine age-specific consumer preferences as one of the fundamental starting points for understanding effective marketing communication-particularly from the perspective of the transition from traditional to digital media. Design/Methodology/Approach-The analysis is based on the empirical research, in which the media preferences of Central European consumers were identified using the CAWI method through a questionnaire distributed to a sample of over 5,000 respondents. To better examine the selected context, graphical representations of differences based on cluster analysis using the Pearson correlation coefficient were employed. Findings and Implications-The results indicate that different age groups exhibit distinct preferences for traditional versus digital media. An effective communication mix should be based on a thorough understanding of the target market. The findings show that customers aged 55 and older tend to prefer traditional media, though they can still be effectively reached in the digital space through age-based targeting. Conversely, the data suggests that television is nearing the limits of its effectiveness for consumers under the age of 34. A combined use of communication channels is therefore highly recommended. Limitations-The main limitation of the research is the local nature of the dataset. However, this does not significantly affect the quality or relevance of the findings. Originality-By identifying distinct clusters, the study provides a foundation for better understanding the media market from the perspective of the target customer. As the media landscape continues to undergo digital transformation, thorough examination of this shift is essential.
The paper deals with the issue of sustainable development of corporate reputation, specifically the issue of traditional and innovative approaches to reputation management of selected global brands in terms of changes that occurred in the market during the COVID-19 pandemic in the context of the ongoing Triple Transition. The main aim of the paper itself is to present the available ways and methods of measuring the phenomenon of reputation, especially online reputation, as the modern challenge for responsible and sustainable development of the perceived image of entities as their very fragile intangible assets. Moreover, the paper aims to identify and analyze the changes that occurred in the measurable levels of the reputations of selected entities during the pandemic. Preferred European and US brands owned by family businesses were analyzed using a standardized multifactor reputation analysis TOR in the virtual environment of the Internet. Considering all relevant factors, online ratings were standardized and compared with the offline ratings. The relationships between the factors were examined to identify and describe the underlying factors influencing the online reputation of entities in a hyper-competitive market environment, especially for the European and US markets. Based on the set goal, the results were compared with the values measured before the outbreak of the pandemic, and this comparison formed the basis for the identification of development trends. The analysis results provided a comprehensive view of the issue of selected approaches to the sustainable development of corporate reputation. Although literature offers a wide range of approaches to measuring reputation, the presented methodology offers a relatively simple and reasonably accurate form of active reputation management, thus providing an effective tool for enhancing the competitiveness of entities seeking to maximize their market advantages in the adaptation to the process of digital, green, and social transition.
The objective of this study is to examine the complex relationship between the revenues of logistics companies in the US market and the performance of the S&P 500 Index between 2009 and 2022. Through a comprehensive analysis, the study aimed to identify correlations and key patterns that could shed light on the impact of logistics companies on the performance of the S&P 500 Index. Key findings show a correlation coefficient of -0.18, suggesting a moderate negative correlation between logistics company earnings and movements in the S&P 500 Index. Notable trends emerged in key years, particularly 2020 and 2021, highlighting the resilience and responsiveness of logistics earnings to broader economic and market changes.
The success of companies heavily hinges on their reputation, an intangible asset deserving utmost attention. Continuously monitoring corporate reputation is pivotal in swiftly detecting potential threats. Family-owned enterprises, blending tradition and adaptability within their brands, serve as ideal subjects for reputation management studies. This paper delves into exploring innovative strategies for online reputation management amid a global pandemic. Authors conducted a comprehensive analysis of sentiment across major online platforms for the ten largest family-owned businesses before and during the pandemic’s decline. Key determinants like Google, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and LinkedIn were scrutinized. This study reveals a conspicuous contrast between the marketing strategies of parent companies and their brands, offering valuable insights into sustainable brand evolution. By discerning effective methodologies and pinpointing weaknesses, the research endeavors to reshape knowledge in management sciences, particularly considering the transformative landscape shaped by the pandemic’s wane. The research methodology involved an extensive evaluation of online sentiment and communications, accentuating shifts in consumer perceptions during the pandemic’s evolution. The significance lies not just in identifying successful practices but also in shedding light on deficiencies. It aims to contribute substantially to the evolution of management sciences, particularly concerning the paradigm shifts brought about by the receding pandemic. The findings emphasize the importance of agile adaptation in brand management, catering to evolving consumer sentiments amidst global crises. This study serves as a compass guiding businesses toward resilient brand strategies in the face of unforeseen disruptions.
The study is to provides an analytical view to the gradual development in the issue of online reputation management of selected EV manufacturers. The research is carried out as a follow-up to the previous year, in which basic measurements were implemented in order to define the initial state of the topic. The research is also carried out with a view to new energy challenges in the period of a possible onset of recession. Active marketing communication, as well as a holistic approach to brand management, represents a proactive approach to solving global challenges. In this approach, creating and sustaining digital communities that form the backbone of brand identities in online markets is still a challenge. The results of the study represent the gradual phase of examining the issue of reputation management of entities operating in the field of low-carbon economy
The search for optimal approaches to building the online infrastructure of luxury brands is an area that takes on an extremely dynamic dimension in times of accelerated digitization. The aim of the study is to investigate changes in online reputation levels for selected luxury hotels on the Adriatic coast, comparing their status levels before and after the Covid-19 pandemic. The research sample is narrowed down to the 15 best hotels on the Adriatic coast, selected according to the ranking of the prestigious British periodical. For comparison, we use a reference study from 2019, which we follow up with an empirical analysis carried out using the same methodological procedure. Specifically, we use extended sentiment analysis in its complex TOR form. The results of the analysis and subsequent comparison indicate that there was no significant change in the level of online reputation of selected luxury brands during the pandemic. All monitored partial parameters show a high degree of optimization. Based on the findings, strategic recommendations for the field of tourism are drawn up, at the same time key reputators are identified, which must be regularly monitored in the online reputation management process. The study thus serves as a knowledge base for practice, as well as a possible methodological base for further investigation of the impact of the pandemic on the infrastructure of brand development in the online environment.
The study's main objective is to assess and evaluate the models of socioeconomic determinants of environmental efficiency in the European Union countries from 2010 to 2018. The two-step data envelopment analysis is implemented, using both constant and variable returns to scale assumption. Moreover, the results of the model of environmental efficiency determinants from four areas-tourism, circular economy, energy and resources use and quality of life-are presented. Based on our findings, it can be concluded that it is necessary to develop the concept of sustainable tourism because the enormous increase in foreign tourists harms environmental efficiency. It is also necessary to gradually transform economies into less energy-intensive towards knowledge-based economies. The positive impact of measures related to the pain of the circular economy was also demonstrated. In conclusion, we present several recommendations for EU policies concerning the current economic and energy situation.
The accelerated digitization of the third decade of the twenty-first century poses a challenge both for science and for practice. The study presents partial results of continuous research on online reputation management of entities operating in the environment of low-carbon economy. The aim of the study is the application of a standardized methodology for calculating the Total level of Online Reputation (TOR) to determine the market position of selected Electric Vehicles (EVs) compared to the market position of conventional Vehicles with Internal Combustion Engines (ICEVs) in the online environment. The research sample consists of the ten best-selling Vehicles and the ten best-selling Electric Vehicles in the world by sales in the year 2021. Based on the measurement results and the subsequent analysis of the context, it can be concluded that the EV market shows the parameters of a developing market not only from the point of view of sales but also in terms of the overall level of Online Reputation as such. At the same time, it is possible to point out a high geographical specificity and significant disproportionality of the EV market compared to ICEVs. From the overall market perspective, the future of cars in the EV category is still unclear, as building trust in low-carbon products is limited by historical tradition. The main representatives of the EV industry thus represent the first forays of the onset of the low-carbon era in individual transport. The description of the issue will require the monitoring of status indicators over time. The results of the presented study can thus serve as a baseline and methodological framework for further research of the adoption of low-carbon policies in common practice.
The market serves as the convergence point of supply and demand and represents the process through which market relations between economic units materialize. From a global perspective, the focus shifts to the world market, which is the fundamental structure on which the global economy is based. The world economy operates as a very complex ecosystem. When it is exposed to the extremely damaging effects of a global pandemic, the term of a pandemic economic crisis becomes relevant.
Applicable and well-integrated management information system is mandatory for any construction project and any business challenge carried out in the world [1–4]. But when it comes to specific project such as the Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) in Germany management information system becomes one of substantial driver for proper and accurate of on-time information or, as it happens, for an informational total-failure. The disaster and mishappens of BER can be briefly illustrated and summarized by two (2) but substantial figures: overrun of more than EUR 6.2 billion compare to the original EUR 800 Mio estimated budget in 1995 and an overall delay of additional eight (9) years compared to the original estimated six (6) years of project execution and commissioning date in 2011 (so a total design and construction duration of more than fifteen (15) years). The perception in the society and in the industry all over the world is painful: the stakeholders involved and Germany as country lost it creditability to realize megaprojects in budget and in time for years perhaps forever. Unfortunately, the BER has become a worldwide known negative icon for the execution of a German design and construction project. Moreover, as a proper management information system was not in place and thereof poorly communicated or even not managed at all, outsiders got the impression that Germany as a country and the project and construction managers all levels and different engineers involved were not able to deliver such infrastructure project in the nearer future. Without doubt the way of communication over the entire execution period of BER and the numerous shifts of the critical path of BER was a disaster [5–8]. That has massive implications for outside investors not seeing Germany as a future locations and future project endeavors within European Union. To be clear, even a perfect PMIS in place could not have prevented all of the shifts on the critical path of the BER but could have prevented the late reveal and therefore the surprising respectively sudden and last-minute character of fundamental news and changes of the BER [6]. The aim of this study is to identify and assess management information system and its aspect as severe element to affect the critical path and finally the completion date of a design and construction project such as BER [9]. In addition, it is important to understand how does a robust and an accurate management information system support those goals. The research covers scientific journals and literature worldwide available and illustrated by correlation data analysis, both qualitative and quantitative. The findings from this study will support to understand how important an effective business and project management information system is [10–13]. The outcome of this paper also identifies the need to undertake preventive steps to identify the critical path of design and construction projects in an early stage. This paper also reveals that an effective PMIS is crucial to remain on the critical path of a construction project and finally meet the contractual death line [14, 15] .
The issue of corporate reputation management in the time of accelerated digitization has been a subject of research by academics and practitioners for more than a decade. The aim of this study was to provide an insight into the issue of reputation management in the Internet environment in the time of global pandemic. As for the structure of the research, the study mapped two horizons of events, the first one being the onset of the pandemic in the first half of 2020, and the second one the period of cancellation of antipandemic measures after 24 months. The research was localized in the market of Central Europe, specifically in the online market of the Slovak Republic. This market synthesized two important factors, namely the highly developmental nature and at the same time the increased degree of restraint it experienced during the two years of the pandemic. A sophisticated online reputation analysis (sentiment analysis, analysis of reputation determinants, and data synthesis through the TOR indicator) was performed on a significant sample of e-commerce representatives, the results of which provided relevant findings on reputational challenges and reputational threats. Based on the findings, it can be stated that the market has adapted relatively quickly to the changed conditions. The pandemic represented a market opportunity rather than an existential threat for the subjects examined. It also played the role of an imaginary accelerator in the evolutionary transition from offline to online.
The global pandemic caused by the new coronavirus has largely changed established business practices. The aim of this study is to present the results of eighteen months of intensive research into the effects of the pandemic on e-consumer behavior. In one of the most active e-commerce markets in Europe, the Czech Republic, we analyzed a sample of more than one and a half million Facebook users in terms of their C2B interactions on the B2C activities of the five major e-commerce market players. The measurements were carried out in three periods, which corresponded to the onset of the first wave, the peak, and the fading of the second wave of the pandemic. This enabled us to monitor the effect of seasonality and the stabilization of patterns of consumer behavior during the coronavirus crisis. The results suggest that a specific panic pattern of e-consumer behavior was developed at the time of the onset of the pandemic. However, as the pandemic progressed, the market adapted to a new normal, which, as evidenced by the change in trends, appears to be a combination of the pre-pandemic and pandemic behavioral patterns. Using a statistical analysis, it was possible to identify the delta of changes within the patterns of consumer behavior, thus fulfilling the final condition for creating an empirical model of the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on e-consumer behavior presented in this study.

Accelerated digitization significantly changed the usual procedures of marketing communication. With the goal of better customer targeting, companies are shortening communication channels, digital ecosystems are becoming a place where supply and demand meet. These facts are a source of opportunities, but also a generator of threats. The aim of the study is to provide an analytical view of the issue of managing the online reputation of selected manufacturers of electric vehicles, whose products represent a synthesis of innovation and necessity. The results of the analysis suggest that, as far as emerging markets are concerned, e-marketing communication of eletric vehikles shows a high degree of non-authenticity. This is especially evident if we compare emerging and developed markets. Creating and sustaining digital communities that form the backbone of brand identities in developed markets is a challenge for a near future. The results of the study represent the initial phase of examining the issue of reputation management of entities operating in the field of low-carbon economy.
