We describe the findings observed in the umbilical cord of a full-term newborn infant. The findings consisted of microscopic remnants of the omphalomesenteric duct together with incidental vascular structures. We briefly discuss the frequency and importance of these findings and stress the need for even closer collaboration, if possible, between clinicians and pathologists.
