The importance of dyslipidemia for health lies in the potentiation of cardiovascular diseases. We assessed the blood lipid spectrum and types of dyslipidemia in people with intense work (men aged 35.7 ± 0.8 years, n = 58). Body mass index (BMI) and nutritional status were determined. We assessed working conditions according to the degree of harmfulness and danger. A survey was conducted to establish the fact of tobacco and alcohol consumption. Mental work with high psycho-emotional stress and intensity of the work process in conditions of physical inactivity was assessed as harmful — 3.2. The proportion of smokers was 10.3 %, 100.0 % drank alcohol in moderate doses periodically. Body weight 84.6 ± 1.3 kg, BMI — 26.1 ± 0.3 kg/m2. The proportion of people with overweight and obesity was 68.4 %. Elevated triglycerides (TG) were detected in 17.7 %, total cholesterol (TC) in 60.3 %, low-density lipoproteins (LDL) in 74.0 %, reduced high-density lipoproteins (HDL) in 17.0 %. The atherogenic coefficient (AC) was 3.58 ± 0.13; in 51.8 % it exceeded the normal value. An adequate and inadequate response of the body to living conditions was evidenced by high and low levels of HDL: in 30.2 % and 5.4 % of those examined. The leading type of dyslipidemia was hypercholesterolemia (in 44.6 %). The proportion of mixed and atherogenic was 5.4 % and 1.8 %. In 23.2 %, excess levels of TC, LDL and TG in various combinations were recorded against the background of high HDL; their KA was normal. It can be assumed that physical inactivity against the background of intense work are risk factors for the development of dyslipidemia.
Healthy nutrition affects mental well-being and is important for increasing stress resistance. The objective is to evaluate the effectiveness of optimizing the nutrition of workers with a multi-component product made from plant materials for different durations of intense mental work. Physiological and hygienic testing was conducted on the psychodiagnostic complex «Multipsychometer» of men engaged in mental work, divided into two groups: duration up to 10 (No. 1) and more (No. 2) years. Their working conditions were assessed. Persons of the main (nn = 13 and 17) groups took a natural product made from plant materials, comparison groups (nn = 13 and 17) ate as usual. In the initial state and on the 22nd day, professionally important qualities were assessed according to G. Isaac and Spielberg. Labor had a negative impact on the psychological state: in those employed for up to 10 years, changes were determined by self-assessment of wellbeing and mental activity; in those employed for more than 10 years, 41.2 % had unsatisfactory well-being and mental activity, 35.3 % had decreased motivation, and 11.8 % had high situational anxiety. The impact of labor was confirmed by the results of repeated testing in comparison groups No. 1 and No. 2: in the first, well-being and physical activity worsened, while in the second, situational anxiety increased. Optimization of the diet with a multicomponent product showed a statistically significant difference in the «well-being» and «motivation» indicators in the group of individuals with up to 10 years of work experience; according to individual indicators, there was an increase in self-assessment: «well-being is satisfactory,» physical activity is «above average,» and mental activity is «average.» In the group with longer work experience, statistically significant improvement in well-being and physical activity was established; according to individual data — improvement in well-being, physical activity, increased stress resistance. Optimization of nutrition allows to reduce the risk of the influence of working conditions on the intensity of the work process on the health of workers.
A comparative assessment of the physical development of students of two groups of 30 people (the first at the beginning of training, the second - after 2 years) was carried out at a military university. Anthropometric (body length and weight, chest circumference at rest, on inhalation and exhalation) and physimetric (hand strength, lung capacity (VC), heart rate (HR), systolic and diastolic pressure (SBP, DBP)) parameters were assessed . Calculated body mass index, index of functional changes. Daily energy expenditure was 3117.7±34.0 kcal, the energy value of the diet was 3081.1±75.1 kcal/day. Body weight at the beginning of training was lower by 2.7 kg (p=0.001), chest excursion by 4.9 cm (p=0.001), VC by 90.0 ml (p=0.01), heart rate less by 4, 6 beats/min (p=0.02), SBP over 4.8 per mm Hg. (p=0.01). According to individual data, more than one third of the persons of group No. 1 had hand strength in the range of 40-49 kg, in the main share - in the range from 50 to 55 kg, in a tenth part - in the range of more than 56-60 kg. In group 2, the proportion of persons with minimal hand strength differed by almost two times, and with the maximum - by 2.3 times. In group No. 1, in 16.6% of overweight individuals, BMI fluctuated in the range of 25.5÷27.7 units; in group No. 2 in 13.3% in the range of 25.02÷25.8 units. Growth and dynamics of body weight, muscle strength indicated an increase in active body weight and a decrease in the fat component. Organized life, nutrition, daily routine and the involvement of students in sports sections contribute to the development of physical qualities, increasing the adaptive capabilities of the body (the proportion of people with satisfactory adaptation is 4 times higher, functional stress is 1.6 times lower).
OBJECTIVE: To assess the risk of vitamin and mineral deficiency of the body among contract servicemen while carrying out offshore operations in the temperate latitudes of the Far East.MATERIALS AND METHODS: The signs of vitamin and mineral deficiency among servicemen (n=27) were detected twice with the use of computer program Vita-test: before going to sea and in 2 months (return). There was the analysis of nutrient content in the sea rations №3. Before going to sea meals were provided at home. Statistics: After defining the test of raw data normality, significance of differences in dependent parametric samples was carried out by Student’s test, using computer program Statistica-6.1.RESULTS: An imbalanced diet led to increase in signs of vitamin and mineral deficiency. By criteria the risk of deficiency signs (initial and after return): on vitamins — average with the growth of 40,3% (р=0,0002), on minerals — low (3 points) and average (5,24 points, р=0,05).DISCUSSION: Vitamin diet correction is updated on sea trips. The present study has proven that as well as necessity to correct mineral deficiency. It showed the possibility of assessing the risk of micronutrient deficiency, using the technology of questionnaire and computer analysis.CONCLUSION: The approach of dynamic monitoring allowed to evaluate the index of studied nutrients, the risk of deficiency while carrying out offshore operations. This method allows to estimate individual and group dynamics of vitamin and mineral balance of a body while working at sea to make decisions on the prevention of nutrient deficiency.
Bioclimatic comfort, anthropogenic load, conditions and nature of the labor process, lifestyle are among the main factors of the environment and professional activities of people. Purpose - to assess the incidence of persons of an organized team in the ecological and hygienic conditions of the city of Krasnoyarsk. Object - prevalence, primary incidence for the period 2016-2021. The state of anthropogenic pollution of the city territory was judged according to official sources. Assessed the working conditions and the nature of the labor process. The chemical load defines Krasnoyarsk as one of the leaders in the total morbidity of the region and as a risk area in the region in terms of morbidity exceeding the average. Uncomfortable living environment is noted for 9-10 months. The work of the observation group according to the degree of harmfulness and danger - class 3.3. In the structure of work, 80% of the time is mental [intellectual loads (3.2), emotional loads (3.2), work schedule (3.2)], physical activities, periodic long business trips with high emotional and physical stress. In the lifestyle of eating disorders, drinking alcohol, smoking. The prevalence of diseases was 1.6 times higher than in the adult population of Krasnoyarsk and (or) the region: a significant excess of 1.35-4.8 times in 6 classes and lower values of 1.2 times in 2 classes of diseases. In the primary morbidity, the leading pathologies were respiratory, genitourinary, musculoskeletal, trauma and poisoning (including the consequences of external causes), hearing aid, the share of which in the structure reached 80.3%. With the exception of the pathology of the hearing aid, it reflected the incidence of the adult population of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, as well as the dynamics of long-term morbidity. The peculiarities of morbidity in a cohort of an organized team are determined by their initial state of health, conditions of professional activity and lifestyle. The need to assess the health risk of the influence of synergistic factors of habitability of the population is actualized, taking into account the characteristics of professional activity and lifestyle.
Aim. Assess the health risk of a cold environment by bioclimatic indices characterizing weather and climatic conditions in the Arctic zone of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.Materials and methods. The mean monthly daily ambient temperature, wind speed and relative air humidity were determined. The body cooling conditions integral index (BCCII) and the wind-cold index (WCI) were calculated.Results and their discussion. Using the BCCII from 4 to 6 months a year at Cape Chelyuskin, the critical risk of frostbite in exposed areas of the body determined at Dixon Island from 4 to 5 months a year; in July and August, the indicator values reached the lower border of the “moderate risk”. Using the WCI, an uncomfortable cold environment was determined, respectively, 2 months and 4 months, a very cold — 3 months and 2 months, and an extremely cold — 3 months and 2 months.Conclusion. The advantage of using BCCII rather than WCI is shown, since on its basis the criteria for safe working conditions in an open area are determined. To interpret the value of “no risk” while using WCI, it is necessary to know the period of the year, in which the weather and climatic conditions are assessed as a cold environment.
At present, there exists a vital problem of studying pathophysiological mechanisms of acute poisoning and the developing intoxication syndrome caused by taking psychoactive substances by the users, e.g. cathinones, to stimulate pharmacologically the effect of ethyl alcohol. A number of compounds with a narcogenic potential and some medicinal preparations, e.g. imipramine, are referred to the class of synthetic cathinones. The aim of the investigation was to study the effect of ethyl alcohol on animal behavior and the activity of some enzymes of the liver and the antioxidant system in acute imipramine poisoning. Materials and Methods. 167 patients of the Toxicological Center with poisoning by synthetic psychoactive substances and ethyl alcohol as well as 70 Wistar rats participated in the study. The animals were divided into 4 groups: those who were injected with physiological solution, imipramine, ethanol, and imipramine in combination with ethanol. Orientation and exploratory behavior of the rats, the activity of the liver and antioxidant system enzymes have been investigated. Results. It has been established that in acute ethanol and imipramine poisoning, restoration of orientation and exploratory behavior of the rats occurs more rapidly, inhibition of the enzymatic activity of the liver (ethanol dehydrogenase, lactate dehydrogenase) and the antioxidant system is noted but to a less extent than in acute imipramine intoxication.
According to some hormones, a comparative evaluation of adequacy of recovery period in three groups of persons with different adaptation to physical loads and their severity was done. The authors found indices of hormonal status were within normal physiological standard during common everyday activity (students of institutes of higher education); it provided evidence about adequacy of night sleep period for recovery of human organism. High physical and psychoemotional loads led to significant changes in hypothalamo-pituitary-adrenal axis (sportsmen and students of military schools). The different levels of physical loads caused features in dynamics of some hormones and their associations. In sportsmen during periods of training and competition, the recovery period was inadequate for normalization of hormonal status of human organism; it provided evidence about inadequacy of the loads. During period of adaptation to conditions of organized collective, young students of military schools unadapted to physical and psychoemotional loads had higher expression of stress signs than sportsmen; length of recovery period was also inadequate. The catabolic processes in human organism prevailed over anabolic ones. The inadequate recovery of human organism is a risk factor for functional status and may lead to onset of pathological states.
For the first time a temperate legionellosis bacteriophage has been isolated from the organs of a guinea pig infected with Legionella pneumophila, Philadelphia-1 strain. A bacteriophage plaque is from 1.5 to 2.5 mm in diameter, and the central part of colonies is transparent and surrounded by the zone of incomplete lysis in periphery. According to electron microscopy data, phage corpuscles consist of a polyhedral elongated head of extended hexagonal form and a short process. The bacteriophage is specific, and lyses the bacteria of main agents of a legionnaires' disease, but at the same time it has some lytic activity concerning the cells of tularemia agent.
