Purpose This study aims to investigate the influence of corporate social responsibility (CSR) on corporate sustainable performance (CSP) of small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by looking into the significance of mediating factors, namely, brand image (BI) and brand loyalty (BL), within the context of an emerging economy. Design/methodology/approach The authors conduct an extensive literature study on the subjects of CSR, BI and BL to assess their influence on the sustainable performance of SMEs in an emerging market. The study adopts a quantitative methodology. A total of 438 answers were obtained from a sample size of 513. The data of the SMEs in Vietnam was analyzed using the smart partial least squares structural equation modeling software, specifically version 3.3.2. Findings The results of the authors demonstrate notable and favorable correlations between CSR and CSP, CSR and BI and CSR and BL. Importantly, the findings contribute to existing knowledge by looking into the mediating influence of BI and BL in the relationship between CSR and CSP. Originality/value According to the authors’ understanding, a number of research have investigated the correlation between CSR and CSP within the realm of SMEs. Nevertheless, there is a scarcity of scholarly research examining the mediating function of BI and BL in this association. The study’s findings have important implications for entrepreneurs and senior management in effectively guiding their enterprises and improving their business strategies with an emphasis on sustainability in emerging markets. The outcome of this study has the potential to significantly contribute to SMEs in Vietnam as well as other emerging countries.
Hiding knowledge from colleagues prevents resource loss and gives a competitive edge. However, knowledge-hiding habits and subjective professional success have received minimal research. According to studies, government (non-competitive) and private (competitive) entities must be examined independently. In this study, the theory of conservation of resources (COR) is used to examine the moderating effect of career barriers on the relationship between three dimensions of knowledge hiding behavior (evasiveness, rationalization, and playing dumb) and subjective career success (organised and non-organised). In order to accomplish this objective, data collected from 280 knowledge employees from various industries was analyzed using the Warp partial least squares (Warp PLS) method. The results validated most predictions and contributed to the COR theory by pinpointing when employees' resource conservation might change their career success judgements. The findings of this study can help organizations decide when to implement a human resource development intervention to reduce the impact of knowledge concealing on knowledge workers' subjective career success.

This study seeks to examine the impact of financial attitude, financial well-being and selected socio-economic factors on retirement planning. Employing a survey-based approach, primary data was gathered from 506 respondents using structured questionnaires through convenience sampling. The research hypotheses were examined using the application of structural equation modelling, with a special emphasis on assessing the mediating influence of financial attitude on the association between financial well-being and retirement planning. This study also examines the potential moderating influences of factors, including age, gender, education and income, on the association between financial attitude, financial well-being and retirement planning. The findings illustrate a significant correlation between an individual’s financial perspective, financial welfare and inclination to participate in retirement preparation. Moreover, it was discovered that certain variables exerted significant moderating effects on these relationships. The research acknowledges certain limitations, such as the omission of variables like financial knowledge and external influences such as parental and societal factors. These research implications can guide policymakers and institutions in the creation of effective financial literacy programs and investor awareness seminars.
Incubation centers play a vital role in the sustainable development of an economy. To promote the entrepreneurial ecosystem and innovation in Nigeria, the government has taken initiatives by establishing incubation centers. The present study explores the role played by incubation centers' in Nigeria and the problems and challenges perceived by incubation centers and incubatees. The purpose of the present study is also to explore suitable strategies which can bring in sustainable development and helps to ensure entrepreneurs a promising future in the state of Kano. Only a few existing studies have worked on the perspective of incubation centers and incubatees. The present study prepares a questionnaire using a Likert scale to collect the responses using a convenience sampling technique. Henry Garrett Ranking Technique is used to find the most alarming challenges and the incubates' expectations from incubation centers' services. The rank-order outcomes of the study have clearly shown that developing a business plan, supporting product design and prototype, access to finances, and providing workforce and skill-based training to incubatees are the priority support services. An incubation center expects to provide these services to its incubatees. Incubatees are not satisfied with incubation centers’ services like conducting workshops/trade fairs, product development activities/laboratory arrangements, taking periodic feedback about incubator services, and the skills of trained staff of the incubation centers. The incubatees perceived that the incubation center in Kano is highly dependent on the quality of the manager for the services provided to incubates. For the effective outcome of incubation centers, training and mentoring should be assessed periodically by an external evaluator using an outcome-based approach. All such efforts will result in the real growth of incubation centers and their role in promoting innovation and entrepreneurship. PURPOSE: The present study aims to test the social entrepreneurial intent model among students in the Indian scenario. Research on students opting for social entrepreneurial ventures as a career option is yet to be studied in-depth in the Indian context. The present study will help create a suitable ecosystem in higher education institutions through well-designed student engagement initiatives to convert job seekers into social value creators. DESIGN/METHODOLOGY/APPROACH: The study used a questionnaire submitted to 439 students to collect their responses on the initiatives taken by higher education institutions in India to kindle students' social entrepreneurial intent. Smart PLS methodology was used to test the model. FINDINGS: The findings show that prior experience, empathy, self-efficacy, and perceived social support directly impact social entrepreneurial intentions (SEI). In contrast, moral obligation has no impact on SEI in the Indian context. Student's exposure to organisations that deal with social causes is the most preferred student engagement initiative. ORIGINALITY: There are few studies in India on higher education institutions' role in kindling social entrepreneurial intent among students. The present study proposed dedicated student engagement initiatives to bridge the gap in the existing literature on social entrepreneurship in the given context. IMPLICATIONS: Higher education institutions' student engagement initiatives can kindle social entrepreneurial intent among students pragmatic with an inclusive approach. It will, in turn, create a desirable social impact.

COVID -19 pandemic is inflicting severe impact on the Indian economy in terms of health crisis and economic crisis. To contain the spread of pandemic Indian government adopted different approaches like - three weeks lockdown, imposed social distancing, closure of non essential and businesses and very high restrictions on the mobility of people. Due to the approaches followed by the government qualitatively it throws a different challenge first save level, save livelihoods, meet other costs like loss of jobs and production (in terms of Gross Domestic Product(GDP)) and supply chain disruptions. The pandemic will impact economic growth and important sectors like agriculture, industrial, services and more impact on micro, small and medium enterprises(MSME). An abnormal situation like COVID 19 requires abnormal actions to set right normalcy to economy. Keeping this is view Government of India announced Rs.20 lakh crore Financial Stimulus Package on 12, May 2020, estimated at 10% of GDP with a clearly defined leap towards economic reforms that will lead to Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan or a self reliant, resilient India.

India is facing many challenges to hike economic growth, being a fast moving economy during 2016-17 and 2017-18 at 7% - 7.5% growth rate per annum. It fixed a target of 8% per annum though having potential to grow at 10% annually. Indian economy showed fast recovery in Industrial Production(IIP),Gross fixed capital formation (GFCF),and consumer demand indicators reflecting a positive economic growth rose at 12% in the third quarter (2018-19) from 6.92% in the previous quarter. later Indias Gross Domestic Product (GDP) speed got reduced as found from each quarter in 2018-19 due to decline in domestic demand, fall in savings from 30.5% in 2017-18 to 28% in 2018-19, rise in inflation beyond 4%,slow growth in manufacturing, decline in agriculture growth, rising unemployment in both urban as well rural areas, declining contribution from labour force, fall in exports, unfavourable foreign capital flows etc. These challenges are to be tackled effectively by government of India as it aims to attain $5 trillion economy by 2024-25. The study used secondary data from various published reports from Economic survey of India -2019 & 2020,NITI Aayog reports, Ministry of Statistics and Program implementation, Government of India, Reserve Bank of India -Handbook of Statistics, World Bank and IMF reports and Experts opinion published in leading news papers, published articles in journals. The study focuses on growth achieved during 2014-15 and 2018-19,rate of interest, industrial production, growth impact on job creation, unemployment rate factors to present the challenges and revival measures for economic growth in India.
In this present day digital era, sustainable development goals are essential for human survival. Information Communication Technology (ICT) is one such important factor to help society to build a more equitable, transparent and sustainable world by removing the communication disturbances and creating transparent and inclusive system. The present study finds the need to find out the imperatives for sustainable development in the era of Digitization. In the light of artificial intelligence, machine learning and digitization the scope of sustainable development depends on many non-traditional developmental indicators, which play a major role in the development of most developed nations. This study aims to find out these indicators, by understanding the development indicators of top ranked and high income countries with high innovation index scores. An attempt is made to understand the correlation between sustainable development goal SDG9 (Industry, infrastructure and Innovation) and Global Innovation Index scores in top ten GII ranked countries and BRICS by analyzing cross section data of various economic, social and technical development indicators published by UN, World Bank Reports for the year 2018. The trends in the variables indicate the need for more planned expenditure on ICT and R&D in order to build a robust ICT to prepare for digitization. The analysis also shows that ICT development indicators are highly correlated (R2 = 0.70 to 0.90) with GDP Per capita (PPP). This suggests that ICT has become a leading indicator for sustainable development, innovation and infrastructure.
