The combined cycle power plant (PLTGU) is the second largest percentage of electrical production method which is 26% of all electrical production technology in Indonesia. One of the components in combined cycle power plant is the heat-recovery steam generator (HRSG), which serves as heat-exchanger between hot gasses from gas turbine cycle and water from steam turbine cycle. There are four stages on HRSG, preheater, economizer, evaporator, and superheater. In the present work, there is a case of thinning on a bend tube preheater which exceeds the tolerance limits, therefore the purposes of this research determine the cause of failure and determine the failure mechanism on bend tube preheater. Thinning of bend tube preheater occurred due to corrosion from both the inside surface and outside surface. Corrosion that occurred on the inside surface of bend tube preheater caused by a reaction between water and metal surface of the tube. Corrosion on the outside surface could be happen caused by a reaction between the hot gas and metal surface of the tube. Largest thinning rate occurred on bend area of bend tube preheater caused by deformation itself, it induces local reduction of breakdown potential.

Background: The increase of cancer diagnosis in Indonesia needs special attention because cancer causes crisis not only in patient’s life but also to family caregivers. Studies depict that a family caregiver’s quality of life (QOL) influences patient’s. Therefore, it is necessary to pay special attention to the caregiver’s QOL to generate a holistic approach for cancer patients. Objective: This study aimed to portray family caregivers of cancer patients’ QOL and its associated factors. Methods: In this analytical crossectional study, 60 family caregivers of cancer patients were recruited. The Caregiver Quality of Life Index-Cancer (CQOLC) was used to assess the QOL of family caregivers and then analyzed using descriptive statistics and linear regression. Results: The mean age of the family caregiver was 40±13.67, and 53% were male. The mean score of CQOLC was 43.95 (±17.83). Age was negatively associated with CQOLC score (β= -3.389, p=.034) which meant positively associated with QOL whereas duration of caregiving (β= 2.167, p=.021), cancer stage (β= 1.299, p=.046), and burden of family caregiver (β= 1.292, p=.000) were positively associated with CQOLC score which meant negatively associated with QOL.Conclusion: The study found that the duration of caregiving, cancer stage, and burden were negatively associated with the QOL of the family caregiver. Nursing intervention such as caregiver assistant is needed to decrease the burden to family caregivers, especially when caring for cancer patients with advanced stages.
Mobile-assisted language learning and its impact on students’ learning outcomes have been examined as one of the attractive methods in English extensive reading (ER). Yet, studies investigating mobile-assisted extensive reading on students’ empowerment are scarcely reported. Grounded in a learning empowerment scale, this research aimed to assess students’ empowerment toward the enactment of mobile-assisted extensive reading in a private university in Indonesia. This case study involved students (n=27) from the Department of English Education at the university. All participants were voluntarily recruited according to the research protocol assigned by the department. All data were garnered from closed-ended questionnaires, reflective journal writing, and semi-structured interviews to get an in-depth analysis of university students’ lived experiences in extensive online reading. The findings revealed how the students felt empowered during their mobile learning engagement. The present study also demonstrates how self-driven reading tasks have engaged students in sharing information and values during the reading report tasks. Further, it was found that students’ self-regulated learning was shouted through students’ reading motivation and self-reflection, including satisfaction and impact. Pedagogically, this study implied that teacher educators need to consider a wide range of topics and materials related to the second essential principle ER. Therefore, for a successful extensive reading program to happen, the teacher educators should provide a continued reading schedule and incorporate it into classroom reading practice.
The Sumatran elephant is the largest mammal species on the island of Sumatera. They are listed by the IUCN as critically endangered (IUCN, 2020). The current population throughout Sumatera lies on 22 home ranges and most of them are in critical condition (KLHK, 2020). One of the home ranges in Aceh Province is in the landscape of Mila-Tange, Pidie Regency. This landscape is a meeting point among the elephant herds. The herds that have been separated into small groups will gather with the other groups in several months. This phenomenon becoming one of the triggers for the incidents of human-elephant conflict. The conservation activity is being implemented by taking into account the needs of livelihood in the area. Therefore, the research was conducted to recognize the movement pattern and its range in this landscape during period of January to December 2021. The results show that the elephant herd range lies from 123 km2 to 413 km2. The movement patterns are concentrating in the type of shrubs (1.227 points which equal to 46.73%) and mixed dry land agriculture (923 points which equal to 35.15%). The roaming area and movement patterns are mostly influenced by the environmental factors including natural food, land cover and anthropogenic activities.
The transformer is a vital of equipment in the power transmission and distribution system. Optimum use of transformers can increase the economic value and reliability of electricity supply. Power apparatus is expected to operate close to or exceed the design life of the transformer. Health index (HI) is used to provide a general assessment of the condition of the transformer. In determining the health index, it can be done using conventional methods or non-conventional methods. According to the IEEE loading guide lines, the age of the transformer ranges from 25-30 years. The “effective age” of the transformer can be determined by the probability of failure of insulation system or which can be based on HI. In this study, transformer oil testing was used to determine the health index and calculate the age of the transformer. The parameters used are BDV, Water, Acid, IFT, DGA, and 2-furaldhyde. In this study, 79 transformer oil sample data were used which had known health indexes from field assessments. The health index method uses calculation, ANN, and naïve Bayes methods. Parameters affecting the health index BDV (r = 0.57), water (r = -0.55), 2FAL (r = -0.58), and acetylene (r = - 0.25). Parameters that affect the life of the transformer are BDV (r = 0.45), water (r = -0.66), Acid (r = -0.53), IFT (r = - 0.49), 2FAL (r = - 0.58), and CO2 (r = -0.40). Parameters BDV, water, and 2 FAL have a significant correlation in determining the health index and predicting the life of the transformer. Parameters 2FAL and water are related to chemical reactions in the insulation system which result in aging of the transformer. With the deteriorating condition of the transformer (HI), it further increases the possibility of initial disturbance to failure of the transformer.
The 2013 curriculum mandates that psychomotor, emotional, and cognitive domains be included in educational evaluation. Teachers, including those who teach PAI subjects, still struggle with affective or attitude evaluation. In order to determine the validity of the development product in the form of an attitude assessment application, the authors are interested in creating an android-based attitude assessment application for PAI subjects. The ADDIE research and development model method is being used in this project. A total of 50 instructors teaching Islamic religious education courses from 5 distinct madrasahs—MAN 1 Mojokerto, MAN 2 Mojokerto, MA Nurul Islam, MA Al Mas'udy, and MA Al Islamy in Mojokerto Regency—participated in this study. Lightning strikes pose a significant threat, as they have the potential to cause severe damage to both structures and oil tank farms, often resulting in catastrophic explosions. In response to this danger, the oil and gas industry in Indonesia has taken proactive steps by implementing the NFPA 780 Standard, which outlines guidelines for lightning protection systems. Despite these efforts, the problem persists, with tanks continuing to explode and refineries suffering shutdowns due to lightning strikes, both direct and indirect, occurring on an annual basis. This persistent issue underscores the need for a comprehensive evaluation of the self-protecting criteria specified in the NFPA 780 standard, especially concerning their suitability in tropical climates like Indonesia's. Some specific cases related to tank explosions in Indonesia will be closely examined. By studying these incidents, it becomes apparent that simply adhering to the NFPA 780 standard may not be sufficient to safeguard critical infrastructure in Indonesia effectively. Consequently, it will be demonstrated that Indonesia should consider adopting additional protective measures and strategies that go beyond the minimum requirements outlined in the standard. Such measures may include tailor-made lightning protection solutions designed to withstand the unique lightning risks posed in tropical climates, ensuring the safety and integrity of oil and gas facilities in the region.

Power transformer is an important equipment in the electric power system. The power transformer has the main task of changing the voltage, transmitting electricity, and distributing electricity. Disruption or failure of the transformer can result in asset fires and power outages. Transformer power failure can result in social and economic losses. The right maintenance strategy can reduce the risk of transformer failure and optimize operational costs and maintenance costs. The Health Index is used to provide an overall assessment of the condition of the power transformer, assess the reliability of the power transformer, and the strategy for maintaining the power transformer. In addition to durability, the health index of the transformer can be assessed from the life expectancy of the transformer. Health Index values can be obtained from expert judgment, calculations, and prediction methods using Artificial Intelligence. This paper discusses the implementation of Artificial Neural Network (ANN) as one of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms to predict the condition of the transformer health index. The result is compared to the calculated HI, then validated by 79 transformers that have been comprehensively assessed by the expert.
The Suku Orang Rimba (SOR) is one of the indigenous people who still uphold ancestral traditions utilizing local knowledge to conserve forest resources. This includes maintaining forest resources that can be used as a buffer for the interests and needs of indigenous peoples both for consumption, economic, and religious ritual needs. However, territorial conflicts and unilateral claims by interested parties often damage SOR's living space and take advantage of forest areas as land for industry. The local indigenous knowledge of the SOR that is not recognized and without clear evidence also causes the rights to the land where SOR lives and livelihoods are also threatened. This study aims to conduct ethnobotanical mapping of SOR in a participatory manner by utilizing the local knowledge of indigenous peoples and providing opportunities so that SOR in Taman Nasional Bukit Duabelas (TNBD) can learn independently in making and owning their maps. Medan has a tropical climate and has the potential to support additional renewable energy, one of which is wind energy. Analysis of wind speed in Medan in particular has not been conducted to determine the potential for renewable energy. Research on wind speed in Medan, which ranges from 3.5m/s to 7.5m/s, has been carried out, but its potential has not been analyzed and evaluated. This study was conducted to analyze the shape factor and scale for wind speed using the Weibull and Rayleigh distribution, and three evaluation models were proposed, namely the correlation coefficient (R2), Chi-Square (ꭓ2), and Root mean square error (RMSE). Wind speed data that is used to analyze and evaluate obtained from the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency for a period of three years, 2017 to 2019 in Medan. The probability density distribution function (Pdf) is described based on the shape (k) and scale (c) parameters obtained from the above data analysis. These two parameters are very important to be observed related to the potential of electrical energy produced in a place or area. The analysis result shows that Weibull is better than Rayleigh distribution based on Pdf. Meanwhile statistical analysis, Weibull distribution is better than Rayleigh distribution based on R2. But on the other hand, the Rayleigh distribution is better than the Weibull distribution based on Chi-Square and RMSE. In addition to the analysis and evaluation, the potential for wind energy to be obtained is around 79.5 Watt/m2.
