Der Postaggressionsstoffwechsel führt auch bei mittelschweren chirurgischen Eingriffen ohne adäquaten Ersatz von Kohlenhydraten, Aminosäuren und Elektrolyten zur postoperativen katabolen Entgleisung. An 12 Patienten wird untersucht, ob und inwieweit die parenterale Zufuhr einer Komplettlösung die postoperative Nahrungskarenz überbrücken kann. Es wird gezeigt, daβmit dieser Ernährungsform bei komplikationslosem postoperativem Verlauf keine Imbalancen im nutritiven Stoffwechsel auftreten.

Post-aggression metabolism leads even after moderately severe surgical interventions to postoperative catabolic derangement if there is inadequate replacement of carbohydrates, amino-acids and electrolytes. An investigation was carried out in 12 patients to see whether, and to what degree, the parenteral administration of a solution for total parenteral nutrition helped to bridge the postoperative nutrient deficiency. It is shown that with this form of nutrition and a complication-free postoperative course there was no imbalance of the nutritive metabolism.
