Based on a 1.6-litre standard supercharged petrol engine, a concept car with a powertrain featuring monovalent operation on natural gas was designed and built by Magna Steyr within an extremely short time frame. The systematic application of simulation tools enabled an early definition of the functional characteristics, as well as allowing weight reduction and supporting component selection.

Auf Basis eines 1,6-l-Serien-Ottomotors mit Kompressoraufladung wurde von Magna Steyr ein Konzeptfahrzeug mit Antriebssystem für den monovalenten Betrieb mit Erdgas konzipiert und in extrem kurzer Zeit ausgeführt. Durch den systematischen Einsatz von Simulationswerkzeugen zur virtuellen Entwicklung wurde eine frühzeitige Definition der funktionalen Eigenschaften, die Gewichtsreduktion und die Auswahl der Komponenten ermöglicht.

Magna Steyr has built an individual concept vehicle called “mila” that combines driving fun and eco-friendliness. The vehicle complies with the statutory road regulations and runs on the alternative fuel CNG (compressed natural gas). It is powered by a 1.6-litre supercharged inline mid-engine that is transversely mounted in front of the rear axle [1].
