The experience of applying microseismic infrasonic exploration method ANCHAR to the timelapse monitoring the outlines of pay zones of oil and gas reservoirs under production accounts for more than 10 years. Presented are results of microseismic monitoring for a number of targets – Kaluga underground gas storage facility, Orenburg oil-gas-condensate field and etc. In all these studies the position and displacement of the outlines of pay zones were reliably fixed by microseismic and verified by independent methods. The results demonstrate high prospects of applying the ANCHAR monitoring to post-exploration and operation of HC reservoirs and underground gas storage facilities.
Considered are results of applying the multiwave seismic technologies based on the use of different types of seismic waves: reflected, scattered waves and waves of infrasonic seismic emission of hydrocarbon beds to solution of basic problems of prospecting HC reservoirs under complicated conditions of salt-dome tectonics. The use of multiwave seismic technologies allows solve such problems as building a detail structural plan, mapping fractured zones and identifying oil and gas saturation of reservoirs. By way of example considered is solution of these problems for the south of Cis-Ural Trough, particularly for the Akobinsk area.
Microseismic and infrasonic technology of oil and gas prospecting ANCHAR had been devised in Russia and patented in 1992, then in 1998. First industrial application of the technology start in 1994 in Russia, then was kept on in Russia and took place in Kazahstan, and beyond the bounds of FSU in Morocco and Bulgaria (ADD-HR).Basically, the technology of stimulation of a geologic area by seismic source in use, rarely – its ‘light’ modification. In the use of microseismic prospecting methods like ‘passive’ ANCHAR, its imitation HyMAS, and etc. which don’t apply any artificial seismic sources a number of principle problems has been found by the authors of the technology. On basis of the discovered quality of Microseismic Background Noise Order in the areas of HC beds a new Entropy Criterion of HC identification has been formulated that solved a part of the problems in using of ‘passive’ ANCHAR and its analogues. For the period of more than 10 years of using the technology there were tested 75 exploring and prospecting wells. Success factor was more than 80%.
