Nonsuicidal self-injury (NSSI) is a serious public health problem. Identifying the factors that could help prevent or reduce NSSI is important. The current study examined the protective roles of the perceived qualities of current attachment to significant others (i.e., mothers, fathers, and peers) and self-compassion in adolescent NSSI. The potential mediating effect of self-compassion in the relationships between attachment relationships with mothers, fathers, and peers and adolescent NSSI was also explored. Self-reported data on mother, father, and peer attachment (each included 3 dimensions; i.e., trust, communication, and closeness); self-compassion; and NSSI were collected from 658 secondary school students (59.9% male; M-age = 13.58 years). Participants with NSSI experiences scored significantly higher on the perceived qualities of current attachment with parents and self-compassion than those reporting no NSSI experience. Attachment with peers did not distinguish the NSSI group from the Non-NSSI group. Further mediation analyses indicated that self-compassion mediated the relationships of closeness with mothers, fathers (partially), and peers to NSSI as well as the relationship of peer communication to NSSI. Limitations of this study and implications regarding the protective roles of attachment and self-compassion in the prevention and intervention for NSSI are discussed.
Objective: To explore the relationship between parental psychological control and non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) and examine whether negative emotions (i.e., anxiety, depression, and stress) mediated this relationship among a Chinese adolescent sample in rural areas.Methods: A number of 381 Chinese adolescents from a junior high school participated in this study.They aged from 12 to 17 years (M=13.86,SD=1.08).Participants completed questionnaires assessing NSSI, negative emotions and parental psychological control. Results:We found that negative emotions and parental psychological control were significantly associated with NSSI.What's more, our results showed that negative emotions fully mediated the relationship between parental psychological control and NSSI after controlling for gender and grade. Conclusion:Parental psychological control as one of the invalidating parenting styles may heighten one's negative emotions, which may then lead to the engagement in NSSI.Implications for the treatment of adolescents with NSSI and suggestions for their parents in the context of the Chinese culture context for rural areas were proposed in the study.

Non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) is a significant behavioral problem among adolescents all over the world. This study examined the longitudinal relationship between peer victimization and NSSI, as well as the buffering effects of self-compassion and family cohesion on this relationship. Data were collected at two time points from 525 secondary school students (226 girls; Mage = 12.97, SD = 1.02) in China. Results showed that peer victimization (marginally) significantly predicted NSSI over time even after controlling for Wave 1 NSSI. This association was weakened under the condition of high levels of self-compassion. Findings of this study emphasize the buffering effect of self-compassion in the relationship between peer victimization and NSSI, and are informative for prevention and intervention of this behavioral problem.
Researching multi agent system at time varying network condition shall usually confront the simulation of variable structure issue. System simulation and computing is conducted via standard computing tool, it is fairly convenient and the error control of computing is fairly stable. Although the current standard computing tool, e.g., MATLAB, does not include the method directly used for variable structure continuous system simulation, the issue can be resolved via MATLAB program design. The paper in details describe on how to adopt existing numerical differentiation equation method to realize multi agent continuous system simulation at time varying network condition through designing MATLAB sub-program self creation structure.
The effect of the adhesive thickness on the impact toughness of the adhesively bonded steel butt joint during Izod impact test and the failure procedure is studied using the finite element method software ABAQUS. The results obtained show that the time with the peak stress Seqv occurred is corresponding to the element failure. And much higher peak stress might be subjected by the element near the bottom of the joint under impact load. The failure time of the element becomes little longer when the adhesive layer thickness increased from 0.1 mm to 0.4 mm. But the peak value of the Seqv decreases and the damage limit of the strain increased evidently as the adhesive thickness increased from 0.2 mm to 0.4 mm.
The effect of metal block as the fillet on the stress distributed in weld-bonded single lap steel joint was investigated using elasto-plastic finite element method (FEM). The results from the numerical simulation showed that it is beneficial when the joints with a couple of right triangle metal block were adhered to both ends of the over lap. It is advantageous of reducing the peak stress in the adhesive layer near the ends of the lap zone in weld-bonded single lap steel joints so that the stress distribution in overlap zone was improved. The load-bearing capacity of the weld-bonded single lap steel joints may be elevated. There is no evidential difference in the effects between the steel and aluminum block.
The effect of the notch depth on the impact toughness of the adhesively bonded steel butt joint under Izod impact test is studied using both the finite element method and experimental method. The results obtained from numerical simulation showed that the response time with the peak stress Seqv occurred becomes little longer when the notch depth increased from 2 mm to 8 mm. And a negative longitudinal stress occurred when there is an 8 mm depth notch which might be beneficial to subject impact load. The results from the experiments showed that the effect of notch depth is evidently on the Izod impact properties. The impact energy absorbed by unit area of joint is increased as the notch depth increase
To obtain specific antibodies which can identify human and mouse MAIT cells,we produced a polyclone antibody against TCR Jα33 from mouse MAIT cells.This antibody facilitating the study of MAIT cells in IBD.Jα33 concatemer was am- plified by PCR using the Ja33 full sequence as primers.And amplified concatemers were ligated into the T vector.Then positive clones were transferred to pGEX-4T-l expression vector to produce the GST-Ja33 fusion protein.The purified fusion protein was used to immunize New Zealand white rabbits and produced the anti-Ja33 polyclonal antibody.Respectively,we detected the specificity of the anti-Jα33 antibody with Western blot and immunofluorescence,we successfully obtained the fusion protein of the molecular weight about 38kD.After immunized the white rabbit we got an anti-Jα33 polyclonal antibody.Western blot results showed that this Jα33 polyclonal antibody could detect the expression of Jα33 on the surface of human peripheral blood mononuclear cells.However,HeLa cells have no expression of Ja33.The expression of MAIT cell's a chain in the intestine of IBD model was lower than that in the normal controls.We successfully produced a polyclonal antibody that can recognize human and mouse MAIT cells,which will open the door for the research of the localization and function of MAIT cells.
Both normal and joggle double lap joints were numerical analyzed to get the stress distribution in mid-bondline and in adherends near the interface using the finite element method (FEM). The results from the numerical simulation show that nearly all the peak values of the stress components as well as the von Mises equivalent stress distributed in both mid-bondline and adherend near the interface of the adhesively bonded joggle double lap joint are significantly decreased to the normal one. It was pointed out that the load bearing capacity of the joggle double lap joint may be higher than that of the double lap joint for its decrease of peak stress, much evenly stress distribution in the middle part of the overlap zone so that more load can be subjected by the joggle double lap joint.
Sonic fatigue problem is one of the important terms of civil aircraft airworthiness examination. In this paper, two different engineering analysis methods are employed to study the sonic response characteristics of a kind of typical commercial aircraft structure (skin-string-frame structure). Whereafter the sonic response experiment for this structure is carried out, and the resonance frequency and root mean square (RMS) stress are measured. According to the comparison of engineering analysis results and experimental results, the analysis error and effectiveness of these two methods are studied. The resonance frequency analysis results for both methods are in good agreement with experimental results, and the prediction results of RMS stress are also acceptable in engineering.
The ability of human cells to defend against viruses originating from distant species has long been ignored. Owing to the pressure of natural evolution and human exploration, some of these viruses may be able to invade human beings. If their ‘fresh’ host had no defences, the viruses could cause a serious pandemic, as seen with HIV, SARS (severe acute respiratory syndrome) and avian influenza virus that originated from chimpanzees, the common palm civet and birds, respectively. It is unknown whether the human immune system could tolerate invasion with a plant virus. To model such an alien virus invasion, we chose TMV (tobacco mosaic virus) and used human epithelial carcinoma cells (HeLa cells) as its ‘fresh’ host. We established a reliable system for transfecting TMV-RNA into HeLa cells and found that TMV-RNA triggered autophagy in HeLa cells as shown by the appearance of autophagic vacuoles, the conversion of LC3-I (light chain protein 3-I) to LC3-II, the up-regulated expression of Beclin1 and the accumulation of TMV protein on autophagosomal membranes. We observed suspected TMV virions in HeLa cells by TEM (transmission electron microscopy). Furthermore, we found that TMV-RNA was translated into CP (coat protein) in the ER (endoplasmic reticulum) and that TMV-positive RNA translocated from the cytoplasm to the nucleolus. Finally, we detected greatly increased expression of GRP78 (78 kDa glucose-regulated protein), a typical marker of ERS (ER stress) and found that the formation of autophagosomes was closely related to the expanded ER membrane. Taken together, our data indicate that HeLa cells used ERS and ERS-related autophagy to defend against TMV-RNA.
This paper studies the collective behavior of second-order asymmetry multi-agent systems with velocity damping. The model under consideration was given by Ren and Atkin. The agents of system will tend asymptotically to equilibrium positions if the dynamics of agents satisfy some mild condition. As the network of system is directed and its underlying graph is connected, whole system can be decomposed into independent basic subsystems and non-independent subsystem. All agents of each independent basic subsystems tend to their own consistent positions; all agents of non-independent subsystem tend inside of some convex set combined by the consistent position of all independent basic subsystems. All agents of system tend to a consistent position if and only if there is only one independent basic subsystem in the system.

BACKGROUND/AIMS Mucosa-associated T-lymphocyte (MAIT) cells that are selectively accumulated in the intestinal mucosa may be involved in immune regulation. MAIT cells are determined by their Vα7.2-Jα33 (human)/Vα19-Jα33 (mice) invariant chain. The encoding DNA sequences of Human Jα33 and mouse Jα33 are identical. In order to study the role of MAIT cells in IBD we produced anti-Jα33 antibody to detect MAIT cells in TNBS induced IBD models. METHODOLOGY Colitis was induced by TNBS in male BALB/c mice. Jα33+MAIT cells from normal mice were transferred into TNBS induced mice as donors. Colitis severity was evaluated clinically and histologically, under the condition of transferred Jα33+MAIT cells. RESULTS The mRNA and protein expression levels of MAIT aTCR in the colonic mucosa were decreased after TNBS administration; Jα33+MAIT cells were aggregated in spleen after TNBS administration. The disease activity index (DAI) which was determined by weight loss, stool consistency and intestinal bleeding, increased after TNBS administration. Transferred Jα33+MAIT cells significantly degrade the increase in the disease activity index scores. CONCLUSIONS Taken together, the results indicated that the aggregation of Jα33+MAIT cells in intestinal mucosa improved TNBS-induced colitis. We conclude that Jα33+MAIT cells play a protective role in TNBS induced intestinal inflammation.
