A series of tetrasubstituted 3-alkynylpyrroles were synthesized via a three-component reaction of imines, phenylacetylene, and dialkylzinc. This method provided a new strategy for preparing tetrasubstituted 3-alkynylpyrroles which can be converted into more complex molecules.

N-substituted 1,4-dihydropyridines bearing a carboxyl group at the 4-position were synthesized in solvent-free conditions with Cu2+ as the catalyst, imine and ketoester as starting materials. The possible mechanism which consists of addition-rearrangement process was proposed and examined by the reaction of isolated product of first addition to ketoester.
A series of imidazolidin-4-one derivatives was synthesized via a domino reaction of aldiminoesters and dialkylzinc. Chiral ligands were also examined in this reaction to obtain optically active products.
A new type of chiral tricarboxylate containing multiple stereocenters was synthesized via the one-pot reaction of a beta-ketoester. (S)-phenylethylamine, and ethyl glyoxylate. High yields and diastereoselectivities (up to 96:4 dr) were obtained under optimal conditions. The reaction of the chiral tricarboxylate with Zn(BH4)(2) gave chiral gamma-lactones in good yields With Lip to 92:8 dr. OBJECTIVE:To study the clinical features, diagnosis, and management of the extracranial head and neck schwannomas.STUDY DESIGN:Retrospective study.METHODS:The clinical data of 33 patients with schwannoma of the head and neck from 1996 to 2006 were studied retrospectively.RESULTS:Extracranial head and neck schwannomas usually presented as solitary and well-demarcated lesions with insidious course. Although benign, the lesion can cause secondary symptoms, such as nasal obstruction, dysphasia, and hoarseness, relevant to location of the lesion. Fine needle aspiration cytology, computed tomography scans, and magnetic resonance imaging may provide limited implications in the diagnosis of schwannomas, whereas postoperative pathologic examination establishes the final diagnosis.CONCLUSIONS:Complete surgical excisions with appropriate approaches have proven to be efficient and successful in the treatment of head and neck schwannomas.
Purpose To explore surgical effect on the aged patients with laryngeal carcinoma.Methods Sixty aged patients with laryngeal carcinoma that were treated with different laryngectomies from 1993 to 2001 were reviewed retrospectively.Results All the patients were treated by the laryngectomies successfully.Severe complications included one lung abscess case,four upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage cases,two anastomotic leakage cases and two local infec- tion cases.These complications that occurred in 9 of 60(15%)were cured by active treatment.The 3-and 5-year survival rate were 63.3% and 33.3% respectively.Conclusion Surgical effect on the aged patients with laryngeal carcinoma is poor.Factors that influence the surgical effect are determined by the type and the extent of laryngeal carcinoma principally.There is no direct relation of the therapeutic effect with age.(Chin J Ophthalmol and Otorhinolaryngo1,2007, 7:233-235)
A novel surfactant—sodium 4-polyethylene glycol dibezenesulfonate was prepared from polyethylene glycol and was used to catalyze the three-component one-pot Mannich reaction of ketone with various aromatic aldehydes and different amines in water.The reaction processed smoothly at ambient temperature and afforded the corresponding β-amino ketone in good to excellent yields.This method provides a simple procedure of the three-component Mannich reaction in mild reaction conditions.
AbstractIn der vorliegen Arbeit geht es darum, ein grundsätzliches Verständnis für die komplexe instationäre Durchströmung eines pathologischen Blutgefäßes zu entwickeln. Zur Analyse der Strömungsprozesse wird eine modellhafte Untersuchung mit Hilfe der Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) durchgeführt. Ausgehend von der Reynoldsschen und der Strouhalschen Ähnlichkeit wurde ein Versuchsstand aufgebaut, der aus dem optisch zugänglichen Modell der arteriellen Stenose mit einer im Längsschnitt cosinusförmigen Einschnürung und einem System zur Realisierung der pulsierenden Blutströmung besteht. Mit dem PIV‐System wurde das Geschwindigkeitsfeld im Längsschnitt hinter der Stenose zu verschiedenen Zeitpunkten des Pulszyklus gemessen. Auf diese Weise werden die Strömungsvorgänge während der Beschleunigungsphase, der Verzögerungsphase und der Konstantphase experimentell charakterisiert. (© 2005 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
