Research activities are focused in:
- The development and implementation of advanced Solid State NMR methods for the study of condensed matter systems, with focus in strong electron correlated systems, topological matter, as well as in the NMR studies of the electronic properties of nanocatalysts.
- In the last years emphasis has been given in NMR nanocrystallography methods, i.e. the study of nanostructured materials with DFT-assisted NMR, in combination with HR-TEM methods.
- Furthermore, studies of nanofluidic processes in carbon and silica nanochannels (CNTs, MCM-41, SBA-15), as well as gelation processes in materials of high industrial interest (cements, self healing polymers for aerospace industry).
- Another important activity is the design and construction of broadband NMR spectrometers. Currently four spectrometers have been constructed operating in the frequency range 2 MHz - 800 MHz, attached to four superconductive magnets (100 MHz, 200 MHz (2), and 400 MHz).
