Genetics and Targeted Therapy in Childhood, Adolescent and Adult Hematological Malignancies
The Cairo Laboratory of NYMC is focused on the identification of genetic abnormalities in childhood, adolescent and young adult acute leukemias and lymphomas and to develop and investigate novel strategies of targeted therapy to unique targets and/or genetic defects.
Novel Immunotherapeutic Approach to Pediatric Cancer
The Cairo Laboratory at NYMC is investigating unique monoclonal antibodies, antibody conjugates, bi-specific T-cell engagers (BITES) and bi-specific NK-cell engagers (BIKES) in a variety of pediatric hematological malignancies and solid tumors.
Targeted Cellular Immunotherapy Strategies in Pediatric and Adult Cancers
The Cairo Laboratory is pursuing novel adoptive cellular strategies to target both T-cells and NK-cells against a variety of pediatric and adult cancers.
Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Therapy
The Cairo Laboratory is engaged in developing novel pluripotent stem cells from cord blood and applying these multi-potent stem cells to a variety of genetic and acquired diseases.
The Use of Alternative Allogeneic Stem Cells for Allogeneic Stem Cell Transplants in Children and Adults with Malignant and Non-malignant Diseases
The Childhood and Adolescent Cancer and Blood Diseases Center is leading several multicenter trials investigating the safety and efficacy of alternative allogeneic stem cell sources including unrelated cord blood, haplo-identical familial CD34, selected peripheral blood stem cells, human placental derived stem cells (HPDSCs), unrelated adult bone marrow/peripheral blood stem cells and mesenchymical stem cell expanded cord blood stem cells.
Novel Targeted Therapies in Childhood, Adolescent and Young Adult Cancers
The Childhood and Adolescent Cancer and Blood Diseases Center is leading several multicenter translational trials investigating novel targeted antibodies/antibody conjugates and targeted cellular therapy in a variety of hematological malignancies.
Reduced Intensity/Toxicity Conditioning and Allogeneic Stem Cell Transplant in Childhood and Adult Malignant and Non-malignant Diseases
The Childhood and Adolescent Cancer and Blood Diseases Center is leading several multi-disciplinary trials investigating reduced intensity/toxicity conditioning regimens prior to allogeneic stem cell transplants in both children and adults.
