Research Actvities:
A hallmark of Prof. Lu’s research program has been addressing real-world challenges encountered in aerospace systems and engineering with academic rigor. In this pursuit Prof. Lu has worked extensively with NASA, DoD, and the Aerospace Industry. Prof. Lu is one of the very few university researchers who were fortunate to have involved in multiple major NASA programs in space transportation systems such as the X-33, Space Launch Initiative/Next Generation Launch Technology, Orion Crew Vehicle, and the Evolvable Mars Campaign for human Mars missions.
