Bio
Nan-Haw Chow was born in Taipei, Taiwan, in 1958. He received the M.D. degree from the China Medical College, Taichung, Taiwan, in 1983, and the M.S. degree from the College of Medicine, Institute of Pathology, National Taiwan University, Taipei, in 1986.
From 1983 to 1986, he was a Teaching Assistant with the Department of Pathology, College of Medicine, National Taiwan University, Taipei. After completion of military service, he was a Lecturer with the Department of Pathology, College of Medicine, National Cheng Kung University, Tainan, from 1989 to 1996. Since 1996, he has been an Associate Professor with the Department of Pathology. He was promoted to a Professor in 2001 and granted as a tenured Professor of pathology in 2012. He has also been an Adjunct Professor with the Institute of Molecular Medicine, National Cheng Kung University, since 2001. He served as the Chairman for the Department of Pathology, College of Medicine, National Cheng Kung University, from 2004 to 2007. He has been practicing as a Pathologist at the National Cheng Kung University Hospital since 1989. From then on, he was dedicated to academic pathology and has published 155 articles. His research interests include genitourinary pathology, tumor biology, tumor marker, molecular pathology, gastrointestinal pathology, and quality assurance.
Prof. Chow has been a member of the American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC), the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), and the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology (USCAP) since 1990. He currently serves as an editorial board member for six clinical journals and has been invited as a reviewer for many prestigious medical journals. He was the Lead Editor of the Urothelial Carcinoma special issue in the Advances in Urology in 2012.
