个人简介
His main scientific interest was to transfer accelerator technology and methods of nuclear and atomic physics research into other fields of science. His main research activity was related to accelerator mass spectrometry; a method, which allows to detect long-lived radionuclides in lowest concentration and small samples. This method is an important tool for dating and the reconstruction of the climate history. The special features and versatility of the instrumentation set up at ETH allowed setting up a large application program with much national and international collaboration.
