Dr. Gupta is known for his work on the physical theory of noise in electron devices, and has discovered fundamental results on thermal fluctuations under nonlinear and non-equilibrium conditions that apply to nonlinear, active, and nano-scale devices. His broader interest in high-frequency semiconductor devices and radio-frequency (RF) microelectronics ranges from RF devices and components, to RF integrated circuits and packaging. More specifically, he has contributed to the modeling, design, and characterization of RF devices and integrated circuits; the evaluation of in-process wafers; design of RF components; the development of low-noise and monolithic microwave integrated circuits (MMICs); their system integration in the RF front-ends of radar and wireless communication systems; and has managed R&D programs on MMICs, RF components, RF packaging, and computer-aided design (CAD)
