主持研究并深入揭示了北方河口湿地水文连通与生物连通的耦合机理,组织实施了东北退化淡水沼泽湿地恢复与重建技术集成与示范,集成创新了近自然综合恢复技术体系,制定了相关行业和地方标准;论证了沼泽湿地无脊椎动物多样性特征及形成机制,揭示了退化沼泽土壤动物格局对土壤碳氮循环的影响机理,证实了沼泽无脊椎动物的环境指征功能,并筛选了典型指示类群;合作开展了全国湿地保护空缺分析、黄河流域重要湿地生态状况评价,研究结果被国家林业和草原局所采用。
