个人简介
Professor Killaspy is a clinical academic working in the field of rehabilitation psychiatry. Her research has provided crucial evidence for the effectiveness of specialist services for people with complex mental health needs. She has played a key role in ensuring this evidence is included in policy to support ongoing investment in mental health rehabilitation services in the UK and abroad. She was the Topic Adviser for the first NICE (National Institute for Health and Care) Clinical Guideline on Mental Health Rehabilitation Services(CG 181, NICE, 2020) that provides evidence based recommendations for commissioners to invest in local rehabilitation services, and for service providers about the specific treatments, interventions and support that they should provide to people with complex psychosis.
Professor Killaspy is the Chair of the Advisory Group for the UK Royal College of Psychiatrists’ Rehabilitation Quality Network. From 2015 to 2020 she was the National Professional Adviser to the Care Quality Commission (Hospital Inspectorate, England and Wales) for mental health rehabilitation services.
Professor Killaspy has led numerous trials of complex interventions for people with mental health problems, including the REACT study, the first RCT in the UK to investigate the clinical and cost-effectiveness of assertive community treatment for people with serious mental illnesses. The results were published in the BMJ and the paper was awarded the Association of European Psychiatrists prize for the best research paper of 2007. In 2019, the European Psychiatric Association awarded her the Constance Pascal-Helen Boyle Prize for Outstanding Achievement by a Woman in Working to Improve Mental Health Care in Europe. In 2021 she received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Faculty of Rehabilitation and Social Psychiatry of the UK Royal College of Psychiatrists.
