Bio
I use first-principles density functional theory (DFT) and develop models to study the fundamental mechanisms of plastic deformation in structural metals including advanced intermetallics and medium entropy alloys, with the goal of designing novel alloys with enhanced strength, ductility, and toughness.
Previously, I have also used DFT to study the energetics and electronic properties of charged point defects and dopants in 2D transition metal dichalcogenides.
